Re: Photography and Critique
Hello folks,
Not sure if this is the right place, but here it goes:
How much would a non VR lens affect the image quality in a DSLR? Is it absolutely mandatory to have a VR lens even when one isn't using zoom and shooting a stationary object in a well lit environment?
Please help me out.

Re: Photography and Critique
VR won't help much on shorter focal lengths. Most primes and ultra-wide/wide angle zooms don't come with VR. If the subject is stationary and well lit, it won't make much difference for a VR and non-VR lens.Originally posted by pranav.k View PostHello folks,

Re: Photography and Critique
if you shot with fast shutter speed (1/60 or less). there won't be any noticeable difference. Try with VR turned off in your kit lens and shot with a faster shutter speed and see for yourself..Originally posted by pranav.k View PostHello folks,

Re: Photography and Critique
Yes, VR does effect to a certain extent. You'll be limited to only stationary well lit objects and that too without any zooming.Originally posted by pranav.k View PostHello folks,

You could've cut out some bits of the ground from the bottom of the frame and made the video wide screen.
Would've given the sky just a bit more prominence.
Just two bits from another amateur.
