          Well looking at the quality and standard of photos in this thread I was quite hesitant as to should I post my pics or not.. But thought of sharing with you guys.. Am always open for C&C and alwez eager to learn things.. So kindly go through my pictures...

          It's ganeshotsava going on I like every year had been to Khetwadi area of Mumbai.. very famous for creative and huge Ganesh Idols.. Though since past few years all the Ganesh Mandals have reduced to height of Ganesh idols looking at the pollution it causes after the visarjan and also problems faced during bringing in and taking out the idols of the pandals..

          Check out some pics of the Ganesh Idols..

          All the pix taken by Nikon cam and resized to normal res..

          Khetwadi(Southern Mumbai) 12th Lane.. Very very famous.. This is their 51st year and the Ganesh Idol is studded with real diamonds.. This is also called as Iccha Purti Ganesh..



          Khetwadi 3rd Cross lane.. Can someone guess using what this Ganesh Idol is made??? Just a wild guess???



          Khetwadi.. Dont remember the lane..





          Khetwadi 7th Lane.. One of my fav Ganesh Idol of the area..





          Khetwadi 6th Lane.. Approx 20 feet tall Ganesh Idol..

                  @ ketan:this is made of pen, pencil, sketch pen.and the body is made by eraser I think. quite impressive.

                    Ketan: It's a Photography AND CRITIQUE thread. not post pics that are only praiseworthy! So don't worry, post your pictures and people would give you advice on how to become a better photographer.


                    Speaking of critique, you need to watch for proper white balance. It's not a problem if you're shooting RAW, but for JPEG shooting, you need to set proper WB before you shoot. Framing wise, they are all fine. I like no.6 best as it gives perspective on the scale of the statue.

                            @Nabendu: Man nice photography, but brightness is too much, plz reduce it.
                            + the city & the cloud looks two different pics or two different layers, try n make it one as the color variation is very much visible...
