    Re: Part 8: Conclusion

A major problem I have faced with the Viaterra Fly on the KTM 390 - Refuelling !!
On highway runs the KTM needs to be filled up every 3/4 hours and its a pain untying the D ring. If you are not careful, the strap might just come loose and then you have to get off the bike and tie it up again. If you don't tie it up well - the horizontal movement becomes a big pain.
Atleast from my experience, if you do long distance high cruising with a small tank, buy a suction mounted tank bag instead of this.

I would second the TS on the quality though. Very good and the rain cover is pretty nifty too.

I know this isn't a big one, but still it would be nice if we could stuff 3-4 pieces of clothing in it.
Sry for the late reply bro!
See, the whole point of carrying a bag is to stuff your things in it! Now whether you're stuffing clothes or anything else is your choice. Regarding t-shirts and jeans, I can safely suggest you 2 t-shirts + 1 pair of jeans that can go easily inside the main compartment. There isn't enough space to stuff anything clothing item elsewhere in the bag except maybe a few pairs of underwear in the side pockets!

Yes rain covers are separately available on the brand's website.

One query. If you say the fly GT is not a DSLR bag, is it the viaterra fly that is meant for a DSLR? Am kinda confused now and i don't have the bag with me rite now to confirm the same..

Easy workaround the issue is to loosen the strap from the front (from the right side), don't undo it fully.. This would give enough room for the bag to be moved aside and provide access for fuel.

The Fly was launched initially and is India's First (and Only) Tankbag specifically made for carry a DSLR on a Bike's tank.

The FLY-GT is a variant, minus the special arrangements for holding a DSLR.

By the way, I would personally prefer the FLY (DLSR Tankbag) as it gives the option to carry a DSLR as well.. but then the "GT" is Rs. 500 cheaper and that makes is awesome value.

Thanks for finally clearing out the doubts!! Extra padding however should have been provided in the DSLR version of the bag..

Extra/Enough Padding has been provided in the DSLR Version of the Bag.

Right now, you are getting a padded insert for the bag itself with 2 small divider pads for your lens partition for now.... So basically if in case you don't use the Dslr camera, just take out the insert and use it as a regular tank, tail or back pack.

For a bag that is advertised as a DSLR bag, there are no photos of the interior on the official Viaterra Fly website I have seen couple of youtube videos of the interior and those look different than the photos you shared. Could you please annotate photos indicating where DSLR goes and where are the straps for holding DSLR? Can you keep 2 lenses inside, excluding the one already attached to the DSLR.

For dslr's, the bag is Fly. This one is Fly GT which is without the special compartments for dslr. Its a normal tank/tail bag.

Thanks nadz11.ns! My bad. I might have gotten lost between 20 open tabs and switching between them in a desperate search for a tankbag. Off to search for another Fly review thread. :-)
