Hey, I wanted to check this with the owners again how has your service experience been with the service center? what was the cost of the first service subsequent services?..was reading some of the issues the GT650 guys were having, so I thought it would be nice if we shared this experience on the forum so we know what to get done and what to avoid.

Thanks vectorz.
I am planning to buy either a Ninja 650 or Triumph Street triple. I love Ninja for its looks but i like a sporty exhaust which triumph gives. Over all triumph is better IMO. Will see both of them and decide.
I got time till triumph starts selling. But Bajaj should start atleast accepting booking for 2012 Ninja 650 as its been long time they stopped.

The service charges are a bit on a high side and are costs defined by the work they are doing. The service levels are nothing to be gung ho about, but they are improving.Originally posted by vectorz View PostHey, I wanted to check this with the owners again how has your service experience been with the service center? what was the cost of the first service subsequent services?..was reading some of the issues the GT650 guys were having, so I thought it would be nice if we shared this experience on the forum so we know what to get done and what to avoid.
Spares however are a concern, but the bike is pretty well sorted that way and unless you crash or something you wont need a lot of maintainance!Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

You can keep the CBZ for local commute or sabji-tarkari shopping unless you want to look cool all the whileOriginally posted by vectorz View Post
kneedy... nice!
Nah.. as I plan on giving up my CBZ and using the bike for office commute and around the house chores.. was wondering, as one cant wear gear all the time. Long rides of course without a doubt!.. may b I will just hang on to the ceebzz!
I have kept 220F and use it when I know I wont get a good parking where I am going.
Bookings are still rumours, i think they have concentrated on KTM and new Pulsar launch for the while.Originally posted by vectorz View PostWow! this is a silent thread.. giess until the new owners join it will be.. anyone been on rides..do post some pics or updates.. anyone hear anything about the bookings opening?
Few owners including me have done 12000kms+ by now. That comes to 3rd service interval (first service is after 1000kms). Service interval of 5000kms is great as compared to any other Indian bike. Even if you use for regular commute, you dont have to think about service for 3-4 months and then the service costs seem relatively low.
I have taken it to Udaipur, Surat and Bangalore and its fun to ride on open roads, no heat, consistent mileage (20-21) and very reliable. The tank should have been little larger though. You end up visiting petrol pumps every 250kms/2-2.5 hours

Flutterings
Thanks Kiran..that post was nice to see you enjoying the bike and some nice pics.
Well, I dont want to start anything up in terms of speculation but I have heard of some flitting and flutter from Kawasaki for the bike. What I have is vague, so let me confirm in a week or so .. but there might be light at this long waiting tunnel with more than our expectation, I hope.

Checked the ninja 2012 in Delhi
Hi ! I checked 2 Probiking dealers in Delhi 3 days back for the booking of the ninja 2012 650r, they have no clue , after a lot of argument I go the bajaj sales head number, he confirmd that bookings are going to open in mid of may-2012. They have taken my number and contact details and have promised to call me as soon as they open bookings. However I doubt since bajaj is busy with new pulsar launch and KTM duke. I donot think the wait is going to end soon. Hope the bajaj folks are reading all this on XBHP.
