Avoid that rear slide
Well dude!! I'm from that school of thaught "FRONT BRAKES ONLY".
I use mostly the front brakes n the rear sparingly for corrections only & i have not managed another rear wheel lock since then.
Dont use the Front brakes on a slow U turn...
u sure to kiss the ground.
Keep the rubber side down.
Ciao!!

Update 2
December 22
1200 Kms Completed as of now.
The first 50-70 kms was the getting used to phase .
I needed to know the Fueling and How the Bike responds at various RPM's and to analyse the heating in general city traffic and Also to know how thirsty the V-Twin actually is.
The First Change: HID .. I need better Lights For My Rides.4300k h4 Bi xenon Fixed the very Second Day .Installation was a DIY for me.
FE as an everyday bike.
In the City with Office-Home Peak Hour rides the Bike Returned about 15 kmpl.
As a Tourer
With Just 100 kms on board, Did a Short ride to Krishnagiri , 100 kms One side .
This was where i was Doing the running in and testing where the Vibes creep in , The braking distance and the RPM where the Bike is comfortable.
Met a Few Harleys on the Way .. Atleast they were looking at the engine , cos Its a Twin .
Filled Gas at A2B Station , 4 Rupees cheaper than Bangalore and makes U feel sooper Good.Nice Breakfast and i head back to Bangalore Doing about 100-120kmph.
FE now Was 20 kmpl.
Next Ride was Mysore with a Pillion.
Cruising at 100-120 and some Bursts to 160 ,
Does a 160 at 6k rpm.
The seat is Like a Stone and the rexin generates heat, A Big turn off for me.
The Pillion was quiet as she was New to all this , and Dint know what to say :-).
While coming back , It was Sunday traffic and my top speed was 60 kmph.
The Second Change:
The seat Gets a Modification.1.5 Inch of Additional foam for my Butt to be happy.
Ride To Bellur cross
1000kms On the Odo and Im still running in (supposedly)
Ride had bikes like GT650R, R1 , FZ1 , N250R and CBR250R.
Was keeping the bike at 120-135 most of the time , Some stretches i did a 200 a few times , It gets there Fast . Its Not a Slow Thing by any means.
At one stretch i was at 200 and Then Pushed it a Lil more to see what it can do , and i managed to do a 215kmph on a Naked 650 with a Full tank was a Happy thing for me , The Wind blast was not too bad , the Vibes creep in after 160 odd , but My concentration is on the road and not the Vibes.
At 215 , it wasn't the red Line , It still had the Juice to Do more , But i Dint want to.
On the way back i was riding the R1 and the FZ1 .
Riding it back to back , I will clearly say that , The Inline Fours Feel like an electric motor at any and every speed.
No Vibes or jerks or harshness at all.
Yes the Gt has a Lot of vibes at 120/150 at any speed only if Compared to an I-4 , else its very much rideable.
I dint want to ride the Gt after i Got down from the Fz1.
But a Fact is that u get what u pay for , a Big single or a Twin will Vibe.
Got the 1st Service Dont at 1200 , Just and Oil and Filter changed.
No issues or complaints whatsoever
Im happy for what iv got , and Its VFM for what Iv paid.
So many things could have been better , But I needed to Pay more :-)

Thanks for the update Santoosh. It is great for a new owner (300kms) like me to compare notes.
I'm having a great time with my GT650N. I love its smoothness sub 5000rpm. Vibes come in after that, but usually I cross 5500rpm or so only while overtaking or accelerating. In both cases the acceleration is way more pronounced for me to notice the vibes. Sometimes I have tried to keep the revs high at around 6000rpm while keeping the gears low, and have distinctly noticed the vibes.
I completely agree with your thought on the comparison with the inline 4s. They cost way more. I would not be riding a big bike now or anytime in the next 5 years at least if I insisted on an inline 4. Im actually grateful that bikes like the GT and the Ninja are now available so that some people like me can think about stretching a bit and buying one. I now know just how to stay happy with my V-twin - NEVER RIDE AN INLINE 4!!!
I like just about everything about the bike except for the sticky gears. I hope they will get a bit more positive after the first service.
I hope to meet you and the other XBHPians sometime. Do we still have GTGs? Thats ancient XBHPianese for Get ToGethers.

Happy to see that the Naked GT is being thoroughly enjoyed in a place where most people tend to look favorably towards their faired cousins.
It does take quite a bit of matured taste in bikes to appreciate the Nakeds given the choice. Congrats and Godspeed to all the GTN owners!
@Mods - Now that we have more than one contributing member within the thread, it would be nice to re-name the thread to something more appropriate - like 'Hyosung GT650N Ownership Thread' or something similar? Or merge with 'Hyosung GT650R/N Ownership Thread' to keep all our info in one place.______________________________________

Damn My Butt HURTS
A quick dash to Chikkatirupathi 30kms away and back, and my skinny @$$ hurts.
Not sure if its due to the seat or due to the fact that the suspension is really hard so all the stretches of dug up roads really hammer my tailbone. Im hoping it doesnt happen on smooth roads.
Gear shifts are as sweet as my Karizma except for the transition to second from first, that one is a bit loud.
Saw a Honda, I think it was a Hornet, on my way back. Rider in shorts. It was really low, and was scraping every speedbreaker on the route.
Need some idea on the run-in RPM. Im staying mostly within 4500rpm and shooting to 5500-6000 only once in a while for very short bursts as in 2 secs max, before getting scared and slowing down. That should be fine right?
Secondly the maintenance guy while explaining the run-in etc told me not to worry about the chain. Is that correct or do I need to do some cleaning lubing etc?
Lastly, am I a complete chicken for not exceeding 130kmph?

GT650N heating problems
I got my GT650N delivered today and I had to drive from Delhi to Gurgaon in the peak evening stop and go traffic. Immediate observation the bike was getting exessively hot. In fact my thighs were burning from the heat under the tanks and below seat area.
I called Hyosung immediately and they said its fine as far as the engine heat doesnt go beyond 5 bars. However I am feeling great discomfort in driving because of the excessive heat. The heat from the radiator was so intense and gushing that the guy at the petrol pump asked me if I was driving for hours before reach the station. I eventually took a break for 45 min so that the bike cools down. After that all the way back home on steady speed 60-70 Kmph and the heat remained through.
Anything to worry about?

Incase you're newly exploring the world of 650's, this is something quite common. Nothing to worry about and things are cut out far better for you with the GTN due to the exposed engine section, which allows heat dissipation at a faster rate.Originally posted by andysol View PostI got my GT650N delivered today and I had to drive from Delhi to Gurgaon in the peak evening stop and go traffic. To be honest, the inline 600's heat-up way faster and more intensely in stop-go-traffic compared to the twins.
Riding slow does not make the heat go away. Infact, if you ride slow in traffic, it only makes it worse. Try to stay above 40k - 50k as best as you can since this allows decent air-flow to the radiator. Do not tailgate any vehicle as it restricts air-flow into your GTN.
In extreme stop-go-traffic, try to turn off the engine but do not cut-off the engine kill switch, so that the Radiator Fan could kick in and cool things off for a bit.
You may have to get used to the heat as there are little ways around it on 600's and above. Maybe after a few thousand kms, you may want to try 'Engine Ice' if the heat seems pretty hard to live with.______________________________________
