re: Yamaha Ray Ownership Experiences
Thank you for the experience. I myself am thinking about a second ride, though still deciding between bike or scooter.
But your experience will certainly help me. Thanks and keep us informed about ur experience.Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

re: Yamaha Ray Ownership Experiences
Thanks.. Cant say whether Ray is better than Dio as i have never rode Dio. But with same 8bhp engine and nimble design, it should be fun.Originally posted by HighOctane View PostNice write up and plenty of information. I am now thinking to get Ray for my wifey instead of Dio. Do let us know the ownership experience too.

If you want a relaxing ride in city get a scooter. Changing gear in traffic is always a pain no matter what ever the bike is.Originally posted by R-series View PostThank you for the experience. I myself am thinking about a second ride, though still deciding between bike or scooter.

re: Yamaha Ray Ownership Experiences
Nice writeup! I like to change my DIO to another scooter bcoz scooter is way too good in city!
Now Im looking for good suspension in my future scooter. I have a very bad back now, so this is the most important factor. How is RayZ handling in bad roads?Sometimes you gotta run before you can walk ! - Tony Stark

senthilanandhpv :can you share the pic of the model you purchased wanted to see which colour and graphic pattern you have.
I was checking on the website, I don't think the one you posted in the fist post is available now. I saw this new colour in glossy black and another in matt black. Both look amazing. And it'll make a perfect match with mu current bike in black. I might go for it near Diwali this year.
Can you share a few details regarding features compared to other scooters in the market? I was personally concerned about the mileage and storage space. Any other feature which appeals to you?Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Mileage and storage space is less than Honda scooters. To give an idea about storage space, You cant place a full helmet under the seat. Mileage is in the range of 40 kmpl. Will confirm after first service. My father and I liked the scooter for its punchy mid-range and handling. My father quotes it as bike like. Suspension was better than competitors. Another feature that appealed was different design than the current crop of scooters. All suzuki swish, hero maestro and honda activa all has similar design.Originally posted by R-series View PostCan you share a few details regarding features compared to other scooters in the market? Re: Yamaha Ray Ownership Experiences
Update After First Service
1) Mileage Increased to 50 Kmpl inside city. Tank full to tank full method.
2) Engine is more smoother but could use little more power.
3) Ride quality increased. No more worrying about bad back.
4) Storage space is a big disappointment. Cant even place a helmet inside.
5) Minor niggles..

Re: Yamaha Ray
I dont know about it. But why would you need that in the Ray ? If it did any good on the Ray, Yamaha would have put it on it.Originally posted by mechanic View PostApart from body whats the difference in engine internals like roller arm n tps n can I change that in my ray

Re: Yamaha Ray Ownership Experiences
My wife uses Ray and I used to take it to service centre. None of the service centres are good. They do not address for specific issues. Twice I informed them that there is some noice like loose plastic part shaking in the front part where battery is kept. They did not remove and look for it. I had to go to local mechanic to check them. These service guys just change the oil and wash the vehicle and thats it.Originally posted by Saurabh213 View Posthow is yamaha's after sales service ?

I did not like the rear suspension. It is very stiff.
