    Re: Yamaha Ray

    Hi All,
    Bumping up this thread. [emoji16]
I have been handed over my sister's 2014 December Ray Z in blue and using it since almost 2 years now.
    Done about 9-10K kms. on it (I have a 2008 R15 and 2015 R3 as well).
As a result of sister's 3 falls, I had to change the front fork rod, ladies' footrest, one side panel, underbody cover, one side footrest as soon as it came to my hands.
All has been smooth sailing till then. I am using Yamalube Scooter oil and changing oil every 1500-2000 kms. (Takes 5-6 months). Gear oil and air filter every year. FE is a steady 40 kmpl.
Some niggles faced: Speedometer cable, headlamp switch (fitted Activa's for ₹60).
Tyres have been upgraded to TL Michelin City Pro and battery replaced with Exide dry type.
Off late, I am facing self starting problems at times. But after removing and inserting the key, it works flawlessly. Unable to figure out whether it is an ignition switch loose contact issue or brake switches. Both the brake lights work normally.
Anyone else faced the same issue please advise.
    Quench my thirst with gasoline!

      Re: Yamaha Ray

Could be a weak battery, or a faulty starter relay.

After the recent rains, the starter is working flawlessly.
I think the battery joints are loose but not touching it for now.
