And some pictures at the lake. Sorry, it was the only location for bikes and I just hurriedly clicked but I just wanted some pictures, great or not.

Hey congrats for the RE friend and have a wonderful ride on it. Love him and respect him and he would equally love you back, take him to places and you would never be let down

By the way how come the color of silencer and the color of handle bar is of copper color? Now I edited my comment as I went through the complete thread and got to know that is anti rust applied

And regarding oil on the chain don't worry that might have been from the breather pipe, nothing to worry, after all whatever at the end of the day it is an RE, so how can it be devoid of such stains

        What is the breather pipe?
With my little knowledge I know in the internal combustion engine, some of the gases leak out from the piston rings, you can say some gases escape out that way to enter into the crankcase and now these gases needs to be blown which is the main role of breather pipe in the crankcase but along with them comes out the oil as well. So basically these small droplets of oil which comes out along with the breather pipe drops into the chain as in case of RE and many other vehicles. For some it is negligible, for some considerable and for some difficult to manager.

Absolutely not until and unless you see too much of oil splashing on the chain or below the crank case, till then ignore it Sometimes I feel good about it as it lubricates the chain .. lol

Rust is visible on chain links , battery acid may be leaking on to the chain.Ensure that the drain tube of battery is properly connected.

Meanwhile, Moksha completed a month today! Detailed post and some pictures tomorrow!
if oil stain then breather pipe is the closest and the most probable culprit, if rust then it could be regular rust or the battery acid (chances of which is very less)

I told them am almost at 500 kms, but he said it's not a problem even if you ride 600 or 700 kms before 1st service.
Now a candid feedback/comment required "Has the RE addiction already started flowing in each and every nerve of your body?" Getting addicted, getting attached and do you think about Moksha often even when not riding, while going to bed, after waking up..etc etc ?

Please do not delay the service, get it done as soon as it reaches close to 500, the ASS(authorized service station) guys blabber anything, don't listen to them also sort out which is the best service station as not all are good, not all are diligent and honest

Service is scheduled for Thursday. Odo on 489 kms now, and I assume I won't have to cross 525 kms by Thursday. And yeah, it is true they blabber anything. Too much casual attitude at RE, if you ask me. There are many centers in Mumbai, I just picked the one which the official brand store suggested, plus it's there for longest time I think plus saw a couple of good mentions online when I researched today before calling for appointment.

The best thing, am looking forward to going from 50 to 80kms speed after the service!
Thank you for the honest confession. Yes that temptation of pouncing on it and riding it would never fade away even after Moksha would have celebrated his first birth day (birth day with you). You stole my thoughts, even I also belong to same breed of caretaker, I value and take care nicely even a pen that I buy or get in gift but never found myself attached to this extent to anything the way I find myself attached to my RE It is 8 months old but whenever I ride I feel this is the first time

Regarding service, yes true they are too much casual so be careful on zeroing on to one. Do not believe what official brand store says, even here in Bangalore what the official brand store suggest is actually the worst in terms of service and skills. Research well and finalize. I finally found out one for my Bull after first service and online forums like xBhp were at help in making that decision.

Cheers, do share your experience after the first service

I am planning to book this beast in the first week of September, ( the waiting period will give me the time to accumulate the cash )

I have ridden my brother in law's TBTS extensively but have not got any idea about the new UCE engine. Can you tell me tell me about the service quality, spares availability and (just to quell my torn decision making abilities), is there any justification in getting the fuel injected 500..
Depends on your requirement. You can start discussing it on a fresh thread on What Bike section.

TBTS runs smoothly under speed 70-80 kmph. If you are planning to cruise more than that, go for TBTS 500. This was my main decision to change from 350 to 500. Also, longevity was also prominent factor which I think can be better achieved from 500cc engine (I intend to keep it for at least 10 years).

Rest assured, Fuel injection of 350's carb setting is better from 500's FI setting since it can be fixed by road side mechanics, which is a big plus.

If you intend to do city ride more, go for TBST 350.

Well if RE has recommended that then surely after all sorts of testing and for a reason :-)
