Pardon my ignorance, how do I check the ignition coil?
After a wash, it cranks but engine doesn't come to life. Give it some time, around max 10mins and its all fine.
Have u cleaned the pads with sand paper ? If not do that.. scuff up the pads to remove about 0.5mm of material. You could also clean the rotor, and gently scuff it up with sandpaper too(just don't over do it).
A squeak here and there while moving it manually is ok. but while braking it shouldn't constantly squeal. also inspect if the pistons are moving freely in the caliper and if its the rear, maybe get the caliper pin greased too.
first just visually inspect the ignition coil for dust/rust accumulation.. and the plug wire that runs from it to the spark plug.

brake pads - don't fall for the svc bs if your braking is good and enough pad material is left (as a reference, i changed the rear pads on my 200 after 4.2 yrs/34k km.. they still had material left for another 2k km). Just clean them with soapy water and maybe rough them up evenly on a piece of sandpaper and put them back in.

Check the spark plug area/wiring and the ignition coil. Also does it crank up but refuse to start or it simply does nothing when you push the starter ?

lift up the front wheel ? pop a wheelie [emoji14] . why do you want to lift up the front wheel ? you could place a sturdy stool under the belly pan area to prop up the bike, or suspend it by cables fastened to the handlebar area and the ceiling (haven't seen anyone employ the later method). In a emergency, you could pivot it off the side stand to lift the front wheel up.. but be careful to not break of bend the side stand.
at the svc there is a paddock available for the front, fixes to a spot under the lower triple clamp and jacks the front end up.

When I am riding around 60 kmph, getting a really peculiar sound like a bus travelling in high speed (I really don't know how to describe the sound)

Brake pads have "hardened" as per service centre, bite is great and 50% life is left after 3+ years and 10500 kms. Does it need a replacement?

I cannot start the bike/the bike struggles to start up right after a jet spray wash. Which area should I leave from being sprayed?

Guys, how do you lift up the front wheel? I have a paddock stand for the rear though.

I did! Not too many options and dunno about the quality either. Hence, asking if anyone has upgraded their windscreen here, and if so the details thereof.

    Hi all,

Need some info on the front brake Master cylinders on the new RCs. Shumi from overdrive had some tips on improving the brakes on a Duke/rc. According to him, the new Master cylinders have a smaller piston. Anybody here have any experience with the new Master cylinder? I'm planning on swapping them out on my 2016 rc.

    Thanks
    Avinash

UPDATE: I found the tube I needed. Popped into my local hardware store and asked for a "clear plastic tube". The first one he gave me worked. Internal diameter is around 4-5 mm. Cost: 20 bucks for 2m.
Now that you've figured out the diameter of the pipe the bleeding part is easy. There isn't any set limit as to how much fluid you "need" All reservoir of most Indian bikes have a capacity of 50 ML. The process of bleeding isn't to add more fluid, but to maintain the same fluid while removing air in the line. So, as you bleed, keep checking the reservoir for drop in fluid while you drain the fluid out of the bleeder nut and keep topping up until you see clear fluid without bubbles, top up the reservoir if necessary and you're done.

Bike is 3 years old with ~22k on oddo.
Still running on stock front metz and stock sprocket and chain.
One of the fork is leaking, still riding with it as going to replace fork tube soon.
Got Mileage of 33 km on a particular stretch when speed was maintained around 95-110kmph.

Pleased with the performance of the bike even though I am riding her since last 3 years.

Some maintenance needed in near future.
    - front tyres asap.
    - front fork tube replacement maybe in next 500kms

Lovely. When you overhaul your forks , make sure you replace the oil and fork seals on both the forks.

    Cheers!

    Hi all,

Trying to put together everything I need to do a DIY brake bleed.

Wanted to know what the internal diameter for the tubing should be that would go over the caliper nipple. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, how much new fluid would I need to bleed the front brakes?

R15, CBR 250R and Yamaha FZ's visors are fit the Duke 390 with a little modification. The DIY for these can be searched on the the forum and pretty cheap and effective. Then there are imported ones from Thailand and Germany.

    Cheers!
