Has anyone ever tried changing low/high beam bulbs. High beam bulb stopped working. Is there a way to change the bulb without removing the headlight ? Do I need to remove the tank to remove the headlight assembly?

    Congratulations for the new ride!

I managed to get the original spare and now looking forward to overhaul the engine. I have huge loss of power, acceleration, torque and the engine seems to be gulping engine oil too. There is an odd issue too, the bike stalls in the middle of riding as soon as I press the clutch and it doesn't starts. It starts again in choke but is unable to retain idle rpm. I am not sure what the issue is, going to have it checked.

Sorry for the delayed response, Hunterkol. I haven't checked the forum in months.

How about 99rpm? They seem to have the part in stock:
Bajaj Genuine Clutch Cable for Bajaj Pulsar AS200 with 200cc DTSi Engine in authentic quality and price. Express delivery across India

After suffering the effects of its harsh suspension for years, I've finally shipped my AS200 off to Goa, where a friend uses it regularly (my office is in Goa, and I work from home from Kolkata). Replaced the AS with an Xpulse, and I'm loving it so far.

Anybody still here? Need help with clutch cable.

Bajaj is unable to supply the Clutch Cable for AS200 and the spare they have mentioned on their latest update is for NS200 which is short by 5 inches in length. I have been riding on a substitute universal wire. Original spare part Number is JL161207. Got this from the old spare booklet. What are you all using and if anyone can find this spare, can someone send it to me? I can transfer the charges whatever it might be.

DM me please. I'd be grateful.

That's called a seat rubber damper. It fits on the plastic stub on either a seat or any thing that has a plastic thick stub. Kiran has posted a visual for you to clearly identity where it fits. This helps prevent unnecessary seat movement and vibrations.

    Cheers!

It's anti-vibration rubber attaches to front of the seat. Flip your front seat around, you'll see a extension for seat to tuck into chassis. Put the rubber there

Hello everyone. After having a water wash the idle screw knob seems to so tight that i might have to use a plier to turn it. Is there any remedy to loosen it. Should i try wd40 for that. Also noticed oil stains coming from the head of the engine.. could it be serious or just engine packing malfunction. I have been monitoring engine oil levels and they are holding steady.
One more query the bike completed 5 years this week what should i do in service. Anything major? Like replace coolent etc?

How much KMs had you done when you changed the tyres?
Did you change the front tyre also?
Did you get the rear Ralco Speed blaster in 130/70 R17 ?

What are the shortcomings that you have experienced?
Since you said your requirements were to get past bad roads and slush, have you taken it through slush? How was it?
    Hey there,

I had done about 39k on the odo when I made the switch. The stock MRF on the rear was down to its limit with lot of cracks developed on the tread. Hence decided to change.

Haven't changed the front MRF tyre as it still has some life on it. Probably would change 1.5-2k kms later.

Yes I managed to find 130/70 17 Ralco Speed Blaster for the rear. There's also a 140/70 17 size if you want to upsize.

The Speed Blaster felt definitely heavy compared to the stock MRFs when cornering. It takes a little more effort to tip the bike into corner than earlier. It isn't really bothersome and you would get used to it if you aren't someone who isn't into greater lean angles. Otherwise the tyre performs really well in straight-line or moderate tipping.
The fuel efficiency also took hit a little. Need more time though to know exactly how much.

I did had a chance to take it through some slush. It did well then what I expected. Does really well on rough, unpaved roads.

It has its own shortcomings too anyway. But for 2900 I can't complain much either.

    Hi there Tribe!

I cannot be more sorry for not updating the threads and keep a tab. I had been stuck with certain things but, I am back now.

I have my beasty up and running as usual and it has its share of problems. It was parked under the sun, rain and dew nights for 6 months.

The condition I found her in broke my heart and I may have wiped a tear off my eyes too. I was shattered. Nevertheless, I hopped her into a truck carefully and moved her to my place. This time, I had bought my set of tools [emoji57]

The handle was jammed, rear wheel locked, chain was so rusted that I thought I had no chance with it. Calipers choked and blocked. Hornet's nest in every hiden chamber, entangled around motorcycle wiring.

Faded paint, malfunctioned switches but, battery was healthy, all the lights were working, spark plugs were moist. If one would see the bike, the first impression would be "damn! That's a loss" yet, everything inside that matters had almost no issues.

I started with WD40, Kerosene, wire brush and dish wash in a spray bottle. Opened the seat to check the battery and the wiring. Cleaned whatever I could but, soaked most exposed and rusted parts to WD40 with occasional sprays every 2 hours for next 24 to 36 hours followed by, Kerosene spray for another 12 hours and then scrubbing every exposed part off with kerosene wash. Saved my entire chain and a cost of 1650. I did not crank my engine yet though.

Handle was free thanks to WD40, took off the rear tyre and axle, rear brake pads were swollen casing the wheel to jam. Cleaned the caliper and changed the pads. Front fork oil seals gave away so, replaced those with fresh fork oil, endurance this time.

Took off the spark plugs, cleaned them, poured some engine oil on to the piston since all the lubricant has been sitting down at the bottom.

Turned the ignition on and cranked the engine, with the choke pulled and good fuel, the bike woke up in 2 cranks. There was initial heating issue but, it was because of clogged radiator grill.

Cleaned the bike, again wiped the bike off with WD40, the plastic switches and the handlebar area to restore some color after it has drastically reduced to skirmish whitish grey.

The engine redlines just fine, no play in gear change, although the front Caliper has to go entirely due to quality issue (slipping nuts and cracks), the tyres are fine (thanks to nitrogen) they had 22 psi even after 6 months.

The thing is, I take really good care of my ride. That effort has helped me to have my bike being healthy even after 6 months of gruesome storage. Good fuel (premium mostly), good engine oil and changing habits, regular service and lubrication, timely mechanical upkeep, the thing which saved my chain and sprocket was the fact that, I clean the chain every 500 kms with kerosene and lubricate it lightly with Wurth Chain Spray, let soak overnight or 8 hours minimum before I use the motorcycle. I remeber soaking the chai. Before lockdown quite nicely because of approaching monsoon.

Even the engine area, I spray it with Kerosene lightly everytime I clean the bay. I am not going to sell her ever, might as well learn to accept her tantrums whenever she throws one at you. [emoji23]

Let me me know how can I help. I will be more than glad to extend my assistance.Click image for larger version

Bump up to 9amp with proper isolation and harness. Ensure to have relays installed. If you have budget, check out FE Retrofit for hardware.

Cant you just stick the button in the middle position so that both beams light up at the same time?

But as soon as engine rpm hits about 7k the bike seems bogged down. As if the bike feels it is struggling for air and refuses to climb to higher speeds or even past 7k rpm (at times even with throttle completely wringed opened). But at times the bike suddenly gets it power back and with same throttle it easily crosses the 115.
However when the bike is at idle the engine revs freely even lighting the rpm limit light.
I have also noticed whenever the problem occurs it's mostly when I'm cruising in 6th gear. Also have noticed the engine rpm to climb very slowly at times.

My question is why it is happening at high speeds the bike shows no issue upto 80 kmph. Has anyone faced the same issue?

    Kms done 38k
    last service at 36k
    oil used motul 7100

    Thanks
I Had the same problem got it fixed by changing the carburetor Diaphragm .
