    What I Like:
    a) Bullet proof reliability (applies to all bikes if maintained regularly)
    b) Best Instrument Console with Gear Indicator.
    c) Rider and Pillon Comfort.
    d) Bike is for highway to chew kilometers.
    e) Butter Smooth Engine
    f) Low cost of spares except plastic parts (cost of plastic parts is more than metal Parts - front mudguard costs 2,800 while full chain sprocket costs 1,200)
    e) Milege: Highway 60 KMPL (65 - 70 KMPH @ 5500 - 6000 RPM in sixth gear); City 50 - 55 KMPL (Driven below 60 kmph); Reckless 35 -40 KMPL
    f) Huge Petrol Tank - takes upto 18 Liters (though 16 Liters mentioned) - thanks to xbhp

    What I don't Like:
    a) No up gradation even after five years (DC Electrical, Rear Disc option)
    b) Tall gearing suited for highways rather than city.
    c) Poor In gear acceleration. Need to shift to first gear when going on slope or speed drops. Problems worsens with pillon.
    d) High speed braking not inspiring.
    d) Hard to find spares in your friendly neighborhood spare parts shop. Once clutch cable snapped and had tough time in getting the clutch cable. Spare Parts available only in Showroom
    e) Poor resale value of the Bike.
    f) Warranty period - The bike needs to be serviced @ 2,000 KMS to avail warranty (30,000 KMS)

    About The Dealer
Dr. Raj Kumar Suzuki. Brought the bike and till 80,000 KMS serviced the bike there. Initial years the service was very good. But now has deteriorated very badly. In my 76,000 KMS they had mentioned they had changed the Chain sprocket. In the middle of night the chain snapped. Had to push the bike to friends house and borrow his bike to reach home. In morning took to local workshop and found the chain sprocket has not been changed. Brought a new set and replaced. Completed 20,000 KMS. No complaints. and changed the service centre

The dealer insisted to use Nulon Engine Additive for longer engine life. Since it was recommended by Dealer i agreed. The engine became smoother. But there was a drop in mileage to 35 to 40 KMPL even with sane riding. After I changed the Service centre to Value Suzuki in Yelahanka, the service advisor told not to use Nulon and this was responsible in mileage drop. Since the past 15,000 KMS, mileage has improved. Getting 50 - 55 KMPL. Thanks to XBhp I learnt that Nulon Engine Additive causes Clutch slippage resulting in lower milage.

    Accident
Once collided with an TVS moped who was deciding to go left or right. The plastic housing around the head lamp cracked. Costed Rs.800. Due to a massive traffic jam decided to jump over a divider. Result: cracked front mudguard and lighter wallet by 2,800.00.

    Warranty Claims
One Clutch Cable. Petrol Tank replaced thrice. There was rusting at the neck of the petrol tank. Even after the third replacement, the rusting is still there. My warranty got over by the time I asked for replacement for the fourth time. Was quoted Rs.4,500/- for the same. Just left it as it is.

I've always been a silent admirer of this bike and when i was about to buy my Apache few years back I had this in mind but went for the apache to have more fun! Other than its plain stlying and laid back attitude it is a brilliant bike (superb engine and gear box. I always persuade my friends to buy this instead of the Unicorn but many turn this down for the looks, Nevertheless it is one awesome machine and your post here is an affirmation to that! Wish you many more safe miles

But the only 150 cc bike with better torque – and that too not much - at rear wheel is R15 V2. Try in 3rd or 2nd gear next time.
You need not be bothered about the fuel tank. This is the picture of my bike’s four years two months old tank. Didn’t replace it though a free replacement was offered, just to see what happens in the long run. Now I am sure my decision was correct.

Are you referring to peak RPM or the whole torque-band? Does GS150R has a flat torque band?

For how many km did you use it?I too bought my GS from RajKumar-road Suzuki in Jan-2011, it was only convenient SVC/ASC/Showroom for me(located at Judicial Layout). I think it's the most busiest in BLR, may be on par with KH-Road suzuki.

Do you fell the lack of power when climbing hills with a pillion. The other day i was driving my GS in lonavla with a pillion i was experiencing some drop in power and had to accelerate harder. Without pillion their is not much trouble.

This trouble free performance was predicted earlier by one vishnukmd and later by me based on the experience with Suzuki Fiero but a very few listened as most of us need good looks, brand name, road side spare parts availability etc. Even the fact that GS gives the best FE among 150 cc bikes was not widely accepted or noticed. Unfortunately, the negatives reported by very few GS owners – most of them from 4 geared 100 cc bikes with drum brakes – got upper hands.
I was sure that there will be a day proving the reliability of this bike but unfortunately it took about 5 years.
One other factor favored the GS owners is that – I beg your pardon - most of our ‘great modification expert engineers and carburetor tuning experts who need a single screwdriver to do miracles’ kept out of this thread. Special thanks to them and they deserve it.

Yes, the tank rusting did not do much difference. I was referring when you are cruising in sixth speed and speed drops, you need to shift to 2nd or 3rd gear to pick up speed again

No I do not remember when the tank was replaced third time. Since yours is a 2011 model you need not worry. Suzuki rectified the rusting issue post 2011 models. Rajkumar Suzuki service has deteriorated very badly over the years. Nulon Engine Oil additive was used for about 35,000 KMS.

Yes with a pillion I do feel the lack of power when climbing hills or slope with pillon. You need to downshift to 2nd or 3rd gear to gain momentum.

Mine is Oct-2010 make; tank is fine anyway(not worried). New graphics(body) were out in June/July-2010(IIRC) without rusting issues. I was just wondering when you got the last replacement...

I can understand using Nulon once assuming Dealer/SVC/ASC convinced you easily, but using it for 35,000 km is surprising.

How much did they charge you for this additive?
