Regarding the oil, what happens if the oil used is thinner than as described in the spec for our bike? I own 2005 model yes.

Another question, how frequently do you lubricate your bike? what is the lubricant u use? Please give me some general tips for weekly bike maintenance. Thanks!
Glad to read that you are fine.
A tip: Using a Ring spanner or T-Spanner, will give you more control to loosen the bolt.

Thinner oil than recommendation specifically the '30' part of 10W30 means thinner film coating the engine parts meaning more wear and tear in the long run. As long as you don't use it again and again, your bike will be fine.

Daily / Weekly check should include brake tightness, headlight (parking/upper/dipper) & tail lamp including brake lights.

About lubrication, I have not been doing much of it. I generally take it to my mechanic for checking chain tension on a monthly basis and get him to oil it up.

    6 weekly diesel wash

3 monthly servicing including engine oil change.

Crossed 34K KMs recently. Did a service a month ago and so bike is ok. However, I still have a rear rim bend and so will always feel that wobble when I give more throttle. Have to water wash and do a little maintenance but not getting time due to other personal things. How are things from your end and how is your bike?

Take it to a cycle shop, those guys may be able to remove the bend in your rim.
My bike is fine. Washed my bike about 10 days back. My bike's 13th Birthday.
Will change the oil next month.

Was occupied with my older bike. Did some work, details in my other post. Waiting for tomorrow... For a "short" drive within city limits...

            Re: Bajaj CT100 DX

I am searching for a saree guard for my CT100.
Only local products are available, which are not even close to good. Bajaj stuff isn't available. Tried the entire townside in Mumbai, checked with company too including my service centre at Kolhapur. But to no avail.
I have ordered a different saree guard meant for Bajaj CT 100B. Let's see how that works.

Would anyone be able to provide me with the tappet clearances for the CT100?

I've tried a lot to hunt for the CT100's workshop manual but I'm out of luck, do share the same if anyone here has a copy.

Based on what the Bajaj ASC mechanics (Kolhapur & Mumbai) had told me, clearances are as follows:
Intake valve 0.5mm and Outflow valve 0.7mm for CT100 DX.
I am unsure of the decimals, I will check and revert.

                  Thank you!

                  Due to CT100 not being popular among enthusiasts I was having a tough time, tried mechanical forums and got the following values;

                  Intake: 0.5mm
                  Exhaust: 0.8mm

                  Still I wanted to confirm before going ahead. Currently she's at 21k, planning on replacing the below at 25k;

                  1. Chain Set, the current one is nearing the end of its life, the GQ ride really pulled a number on it, every second opinion I get recommends to change them already but being stingy I hope to keep them till the adjuster is at absolute end.
                  2. Fork Oil and Seals, got a pair of suspension boots as well.
                  3. Head O ring kit and Anabond, to be used during tappet adjustment.
                  4. Coneset, yet to get, forgot the last time I was at the SVC.
                  5. Air filter, I change at 5k intervals.

Fingers crossed on getting the actual values.

                    Hi.
Chain set, Air filter, Head O ring kit with Anabond is all good.
I believe that GQ took a toll on your bike.
Is there play in the steering? If so, consider the cone set.
Are the front forks leaking oil? If so, consider the oil seals.
If not, then don't open it up. You can just drain the oil and replace the same.

                    This is my personal opinion.
If it ain't broke, don't mend it.

But I agree that GQ type rides may wear out components, earlier than usual. If you are planning a similar ride soon in the near future or the bike is having issues mentioned above, then change those by all means.
Anyway your call. All the best.

GQ was way better compared to riding conditions down south, they are crap, only reason my chain set crapped out was due to my weight, luggage carried and higher speeds maintained.

As for leaks they've recently started to give off minor vapor leaks(might be due to climate) but I'll run them for another 4k before replacing them, I am a stickler round figures on maintenance intervals.

My P220's coneset and seals are replaced at every 15k km's in comparison, thanks to Bajaj its a cheap price to pay for peace of mind.

Cool! Taking my bike to the service tomorrow. Long time since I gave for service and I need to fix many issues. Changing Battery is a priority as I struggle when I honk every time. Rear tyre needs a change and also headlight glass. Interior roads are not that good and have lots of bumps and pits, so lots of discomfort in everyday ride. Suggest me a good tyre.

I am using Ceat Milaze. Experience over the past year or so has been pretty good. I have seen Splendor, Passion motorcycles with same tyre dimensions, use this particular model. I don't know if Ceat has any other models in the same size. You may want to look into that.
Avoid TVS, MRF, RALCO, EUROGRIP tyres.

About the battery change, do remember to take a sealed battery. I have Amaron. No further damage to the battery box. I wish I had taken it (sealed battery) when I bought the bike.

The Saree guard came, but it wasn't compatible. So didn't purchase it. Tried a lot of places Mumbai, Pune, Kolhapur. Didn't get it.
                            So refurbished the existing one.

Got it gas welded at weak and broken places. Then used a chrome paint over it.

Don't have time for a thorough job right now, so did a temporary fix for the paint thing. If it holds then cool, else will do a definitive job post rainy season.Click image for larger version

Whats the crusing speed of ct100. I mean the speed which you can do all day long without stressing the engine and not vibrating the pegs and bar. I would be grateful if i get the reply. Thanks.

Its a short stroke, can comfortably scream aywhere from 50~120 kmph all day on the speedo, true speed would be 80~100 kmph.
