[Ownership Thread]: Bajaj CT100 DX
Hi guys. I own a Bajaj CT 100 DX since January 2005. It is the one with 18" wheels. It has been a trustworthy bike. I have had the bike cosmetically restored recently. If the mods approve the topic, I can post before and after photos alongwith my 11 year experience with this bike. -

Thanks a lot.Originally posted by Brezon95 View PostCongrats prashanth sir! Make sure you properly break in the new engine. Keep us posted.
Sure I will be little careful in break in process. Since it doesn't have RPM Meter, in Catalog it is advised to keep below 40KMPH for the first 1000KMs and below 45KMPH till 2000KMS.
By the way for CT100 Bajaj is providing only 3 Free Services.
1. First 500-750KMS
2. 5000KMS
3. 10000KMS.
After that we need to get another 3 paid services by 5000KM's interval to avail any Warranty...
Later on I will try to maintain by myself. I believe most of the maintenance tips are there available in 'Hero Moto Splendor/Joy/CD-Dawn/Passion' thread. Infact that is my Guide.
Of course I need all of your suggestions, tips, guidance, etc... if I come across any problems with my motorcycle.

Re: Bajaj CT100 DX
5000 km are too long an interval, at least for an oil change. I would advice you do an oil change outside SVC every 2k or 2.5k km, so that it makes every alternate change at the SVC.Originally posted by prashanth.rva View PostBy the way for CT100 Bajaj is providing only 3 Free Services.

Re: Bajaj CT100 DX
Congrats on your bike. As Divya mentions, unlikely that your engine oil will last 5k. Change as soon as you 'feel' the gear shifts getting rough!Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Re: Bajaj CT100 DX
Hi. Congratulations on your new bike. I have had the Bajaj CT 100DX since January 2005. It has been a long journey with such a trusty companion. As you may be aware that I also have a 1972 Jawa which is being restored currently. Anyway the petrol prices has started to increase. I projected that even if the prices remained constant , given the kms I drove in a month on the Jawa, just the petrol costs could help me purchase a new bike. My father gave me INR 1,00,000 to purchase a bike. Yes, the number of zeroes is correct. The on road price of CBZ (classic) was around 65K for the disc brake version. The Pulsar 150cc (this was the time where both drums and alloys were available) was for 50/55K.
Anyway I tested the LML bikes (graptor & freedom), Honda Unicorn (only kickstart was available). The Honda showroom guy actually told me that this bike is targeted for a young populace who should be able to kick start a bike and the company does not think that they need an electric starter. I stray from the story.
Coming back, so I shortlist the bike based on the fact that I wanted the best mileage and not power or speed, I already had that in my Jawa. So I go in for this bike after ruling out the TVS Centra and Bajaj Byk, which also had approximately 100kmpl. I didn't want the Hero Honda CD100, Splendor or Passion as they offered much less in terms of mileage & also had a lot of vibrations. So I test drove the CT 100 at the Bajaj showroom, till 60-70kmph there were no vibrations, it was smooth and well dampened. I loved it from that very moment. I bought it and got it home within 2 days with all paperwork. I parcelled it to my place of studies and used it there. I had my bike serviced over there for the time I was there. The Bajaj service centre guys got to knew me well and their senior mechanic always set the carburettor and valves for my bike. I had had the Teflon coating done. It was maintained pristinely. The Bajaj service centre got the Bike average tester machine and I got a mileage of 108kmpl on it consistently. The on road test with 100ml petrol returned a projected mileage of about 97kmpl. The actual on road mileage for me was approx. 75-83kmpl. After I came back to Mumbai, I tried taking it to the Company service centre, came back thoroughly dissatisfied and then started taking the bike to the FNG. It used to give me about 60-65kmpl on Mumbai city. After 10 and a half years and 80000kms, I had to change the clutch plates. A month later there was some mild inconsistent tapping noise in the engine area, to which FNG advised cam bearing and reboring. We did it. A month after that, I finally decided to go ahead with the painting work. So I got it painted. The indicators, headlight, front visor, mirrors and spokes were changed.
Since its purchase, I have not required to claim insurance even once. I currently get an 85% discount (50% no claim bonus + 35% added) on the base premium.
I have complete records of my bike and all the PUCs till date. I have had the rear tyre changed thrice (will have to check my file) and the front tyre once. Coming rains I might change the rear tyre also to a CEAT, currently it is MRF.

Re: Bajaj CT100 DX
Thank you, Prashant. Yup. Long life esp. for a Bajaj bike from 2004-05. Front fairing stickers are stuck incorrectly, but I like it. Most people may not be able to tell the difference.
I have a spare part catalogue for CT100. I will post it shortly, subject to moderator approval.
The source for the document is Bajaj website and obtained through google search using legitimate resources.
