Got the first service done today. Just normal engine oil change, filter change, chain tightening, clean and lube and wash.
    Miscellaneous adjustments on levers etc.
Costed around ₹1300/- and they gave the remaining lube and cleaner pack.
Engine feels much smoother. And revvs climb easily. Tightening of bolts have lessened vibes to a large extent, though still exist.
Sound from chain has vanished as it was tightened. Waiting to see how long it goes well.
Tested the headlights yesterday on roads without lights, have to say my ninjas halogen did much better than these bi-leds. Even the high beam wasn't great compared to the N250s. Since I don't ride much in pitch dark, it's okay.

    Regarding spare parts costs

    Front mudguard -₹1807/-
    Headlight - ₹22000/-
These are from the company spares price list at Chennai.
    AweSome is too LesS!

I am about to give my bike for the first service so this is timely. My main concern really is the vibration and hope that improves apart from the engine being more rev friendly above 6K rpm. Can you please confirm the engine oil that was used?

          Cheers!

Post the service, the engine and gearshifts definitely feel smoother. They use the Motul 3000 4T 20W50 mineral as standard.

                Hello guys,
                1) I am a longtime lurker in this website and a newbie to the motorcycle world. I had ordered Apache rr 310 as my first bike. I booked on 2nd of march in sakthi saradha tvs, coimbatore. I was told of 4-5 months waiting period & was waiting for more than 2 months. But people who have booked after me in various show rooms had started to get their bike delivered. Last thursday i scolded the sales executive guy to repay my advance booking amount(1.5 laks). He asked for one more week to deliver the bike. But Suddenly yesterday itself he informed me that bike will be available on coming thursday. should i be worried? How can he arrange a bike within 3 days? I want your opinions on this.
                2) the showroom is 200 kms away from my home. As i said i am a newbie to motorcycles. And havent driven a motorcycle this far & in this route before. I have licence but have not owned any bikes. Once i had travelled 100 kms in my friends bike in a known route. In showroom they say bike courier transport service is available. Should i use that or should i face my fears &drive it by myself?
                3) should i bring a mechanic with me to the showroom for PDI? i have done quite a research on pdi in internet. And i have read many motorcycles related books. Is book knowledge enough for pdi and long distance driving?? Thanks for your opinion in advance.

Surprisingly in chennai some colors are readily available. Check for the manufacturing date. it will be pasted on the rear tyre hugger.
For bringing the motorcycle, if you are confident enough, ride it yourself. You can also take your trusted guy with you and you can sit as pillion while he is riding the bike.At any case, i would suggest you to take someone with you, instead of going alone. Always wear helmet as minimum.
Transportation is also good idea,, just make sure they dont damage the bike, and i think insurance wont cover anything in case of transportation damage, not sure though.
                  All the best

                    Congratulations on your new bike.
Avoid any sort of bike courier transportation ! More often, some part or the other would get broken, scratched or damaged. you don't want that on a new bike, do you?
Or what you could do is, stay along with the bike as it is loaded and transported, they probably would use one of those mini trucks like the tata ace. So stay along and supervise them loading the bike, making sure it is tied down properly and travel in the vehicle along with the bike.

Or take someone along who is confident driving, and get the bike home. What does the route have to do man, it's not like you are driving thru a bandit infested forest area, are you ? And I hope you know how to ride a motorcycle ! Book knowledge is ok, but on our roads you need real road time experience!

For PDI, along with book knowledge use some common sense.. i.e. at the minimum do a through visual inspection. I know you will be excited as F but just tell yourself to calm down and start poking your nose around the bike, and do a pdi. You can write down some of the checks on a piece of paper and tick them off as you do the checks. Mostly there would be a pdi checklist at the svc itself (or maybe in the manual), or for a general pdi checklist you can refer to this: (credit to Ajay for compiling it)

Chennai is having the same Ex showroom price.
                        insurance - Rs. 5000 (B2B, zero dep)
RR doesn't have any additional accessories, everything is included in the ex showroom price and costs 2.40L on road. so straightaway that charge can be cancelled.
Never heard of facilitation charge. Request them clarification ,if they didn't give proper reply, escalate this issue to TVS, seems like they are charging more.
Check with the other showroom for price also. But nevertheless, they should give you detail splitup on everything, even for registration fees also.

                            yea.
B2B, bumper to bumper, will cover complete damage except for some consumables and bolts sorts of things and zero depreciation means depretiation will not be taken into account..
U can opt for your own insurance if you know any insurance agent personally. It will be the best while claiming process.

Wierd thing happened. The gear had become so hard to the point that I was unable to change gears on 1st, 2nd and sometimes on 3rd. Went to the service centre. Apparently the clutch play got changed. He adjusted it and now the gear shifts and acceleration are back to being butter-smooth. But still don't know how it happened. Even the service centre guy was clueless and said that I was the first person who came with this. And it's a massive change in clutch play. I am yet to adjust with it. Also my bike still stalls at lower speeds. No resolution for that yet.

Btw many people have asked me whether this bike is Akula. Kudos to TVS for marketing the concept so well. But they still need to do marketing for the real bike as there have been people who have asked me about the make of the bike.

Another rider also came up with the complaint that change in clutch play happens automatically. So might be related to few bikes.

Yea, even in my office people remember this bike as Akula rather than Apache. When i say apache, they tends to think about the commuter rtr series
