Any such changes to the motorcycle may lead to the warranty getting void. The bike has a long life so why not enjoy it the way the manufacturer has made it atleast till the warranty period is over?Originally posted by Soumalya Banerjee View PostHi guys,
I have just got my Interceptor orange crush delivered a couple of days back, and I am very new to this ownership forum.
Can anyone confirm if changing the stock air filter to after-market ones like DNA or K&N will void the warranty or not?
This also gives you a chance to upgrade (by using the aftermarket stuff) when you get bored of the motorcycle in a few years.
I have tried installing an aftermarket exhaust and the air filter of my Standard 500 and ran with it for a few years but then returned to the stock ones and the it runs super smooth now.

If you are trying to start the motorcycle after that long my suggestion would be to do it after an oil & fuel changed.Originally posted by foruamit2004 View Post
Thanks for the tips. By the time i go back, it would be overdue for next servicing. So if it starts after shaking etc, i will directly goto service center first thing, which us like 2kms away.
It is a 30min job and even if your bike's battery has run out of charge, the local mechanic or the dealership guys can get a spare battery.
After the lockdown in 2020 i had called booked an appointment for Service on Wheels for the same. The guys came, changed the oil, emptied the fuel and the battery had some charge (i had removed the negative terminal before leaving it) and the bike started with ease in the 2nd Kick. This keeps you stress free.

Hi,
Can anyone advise me about how many KMs should I ride the motorcycle with Liquid Gun engine oil (the one provided by the RE service center) before changing it?
Also, can you comment if I go with any other engine oil or stick to the Liquid Gun?Thanks,
Jo

Youll have so many suggestions from everyone but i'd recommend you to tick to the manual. Till the time you bike is in warranty, its RE's responsibility to keep it healthy but if you go and get something done to the motorcycle from outside like a service then RE can say no for simple under warranty repairs. Stick to it and you'll have someone to go to if anything goes wrong.Originally posted by Soumalya Banerjee View PostHi,

Hello,
I have an interceptor bs6 2700km on odo, since the past week I've noticed a humming sound from the front. The sound appears only when the bike is started, during Idle, and upto a limit when the engine sound makes it barely audible. Has anyone experienced a similar sound from their int650, is it normal or something is faulty?

Have you visited the SVC yet? make a video of it when ever you cold start it next. It could be the regular Sound of EFI but visiting the SVC will give you a peace of mind.Originally posted by tushark1 View PostHello,

Hi friends. I have finally booked canyon red interceptor 650 on 12th August at ganganagar rajasthan. Though dealer told me waiting can be upto 3 months, i was happy with it.
but i got call from dealer that i can get the bike in 7 days. that as they were placing order, new lot for jaipur depot was getting ready from chennai plant and by luck i can get my bike so early. though i have discussed with the dealer about any thing fishy like selling me test riden bike from other dealer or any wrong thing, and he has promised me that noting of such will happen and bike is coming straight from plant.
please share your views and experiences like this, please share. 3months waiting gone down to 7 days, am i lucky or i am may get some bad experience.

Hi friends. It would have been fastest Interceptor delivery, but I was out of luck I think. Bike was unloaded at Sri Ganganagar RE to day, I made sure to be present during unloading, and sales head also called me to reach and see bike unloading.Originally posted by premsaharan View PostHi friends. I booked on 12th August, I would have been mine today only, 15th august, independence day.
But got damaged during transit. so I declined to take it, and dealership agreed to send it back and get me new one. For last few days I was confused about my decision to buy Interceptor, but when I saw the beauty with that beast of an engine I was happy for my liking. I will be waiting for it for some time now. Posting pics of damages.

I would say not really necessarily. I dont think oil filter would get damaged that easily. But it could have saved a small bump on the silencer, when trying to cross a huge breaker(to stop rain water coming to house) if my bikes previous owner had it installed. I installed the first day i got the bike before even registering it in my name. I think its totally worth it for 2k and is a must accessorie apart from engine gaurd.Originally posted by RahulPrasad View PostI was wondering if the sump guard is really necessary. I never do offroads and the roads which i travel are pretty good. Do i need to spend on the guard?

Mitron,
I have an Interceptor 650, purchased in 2019 (BSIV). It is, as usual a bliss riding it. But in the recent times there is problem that's crept up. At times, after riding it for about 15-20kms, i have noticed that the battery indicator light on the instrument console lights up. During such time the horn starts to behave / sound in a weird manner. Restarting the bike (the bike starts effortlessly, even after riding it for another 10kms with the battery indicator lighted up) would solve the problem but the light sometimes turns on again after riding for 15-20kms. Taking it to the service center is difficult given the inconsistent nature of the problem. I have to plan in such a manner that the light stays on when the bike reaches the service center. Any inputs from persons facing / faced the similar problem would be really helpful. A solution to the problem is very much welcome.

So, i came back to hyderabad exactly after 5 months and 22 days. Bike was already due for yearly servicing in mid jun, but it was already aug 20th.
I was quite afraid that it may not start as the bike is more then 2 year old now and battery would not have been in that good shape.
So, i went in morning to parking area, removed the cover and cleared dust and turned on the key. After that shook the bike for 10-15 times. Laid it down and picked up also 4-5 times to shake the stagnant oil and petrol, based on the advice frim "clutchandplate" from the previous page. So, the first time i knew that i could pick it up like smaller bikes from the ground.
with some extra effort.
After which i hit the ignition switch for 3 seconds and immediately after another hit for 3 seconds and bike started. Left it idealing for 5 more mins while i did more dusting and immediately went to service center.
Since the 3rd service timeline was already passed they used the 4th service coupon for free servicing. Not sure what happens to warranty, i tried asking, but did not really got an answer. Total charges 2.6k for oil and filter change etc
Bike has been running quite good. Havnt done much riding so far except for a few morning rides for breakfast joint out side of city. but it feels good to back on it.

To me looks like the battery issue or the loose connection, i think RE team can check and sort this out fairly easily, if you go to talk to them or may check yourself for the connection etc (going thru youtube videos, if there are any)Originally posted by aakarshmasti View PostMitron,
