Looking at the issues that you posted with the test ride bike I would suggest you to not compare Triumph with RE.
The price difference in the most expensive RE and the cheapest Triumph says it all.
Triumph Bikes are expensive for a reason and RE is going to be at least Cheaper to maintain.
Parts of Triumph can be expensive and so would the service cost.
Being a family man, you would also need to justify a big 5 year loan for a bike.
Remember, aam aadmi still thinks that bikes cost less than 70k.
My suggestion,
Go for Java(retro look) or any other Japanese make bike if you are in for good build quality and so on.
If RE was your dream, then just go for it. If you stop chasing your dreams then what is this life for?
Never give up on your dreams and live a life of regret.
Thanks Gollum for your inputs
Also, congratulations Saudjawed for the new bike.
I had another test ride at another showroom and feeling very positive, also I did not compare it with any other bike. JUST THE RE FEEL
my points of concern as were before :
1) How well do you think the build quality of RE is ? I felt they are cutting corners with the material
2) Have you guys tried the TD in traffic conditions ? on a straight road, everything would feel amazing and fast. Lets talk about driving in city speed limits
3) Did you feel the foot pegs are in the wrong position ? Or was it just me !
4) Seat is soft and cushiony but I felt like sitting on a bench
A friend accompanied me during the first ride and his experience of the bike was that the clutch plates were damaged.
I doubt that the handle screw (Don't know the name where chassis and shockers meet) was tight and resisted smooth movement.
The second ride was in more traffic than before but I did not feel any strain and really enjoyed the ride.
Revving the engine also gave me space rather than honking, which I highly enjoyed.
I don't have any more concern with point 2(riding in traffic) and I'm sure about point 1 build quality is not good for parts other than engine.
Foot pegs are actually a bit oddly placed but can't do anything.
Questions to Saudjawed :
1) Any improvement possible on the seat: How is the cushioned seat cover compared to the touring seat accessory ?
2) Handle bar raiser is something even I'm looking for. Are these RE provided or custom made ?
3) Exhaust sound: Any plans of changing the exhaust ? Stocks are a bit muffled.Last edited by aditya13286; 12-29-2018, 03:47 AM.

2. The handlebar riser is been made by my self, u can get onto from carbon racing for Dominar or KTM buy the bolt will not fit u need to get the right length bolt from the market approx 4 inch 14mm bolt.
3. No I have no plan to change the exhaust, I am much happy with the stock exhaust.

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
I'd like to touch on a few points, insightful queries. It seems Red Rooster have taken the plunge in making the first aftermarket exhaust for the 650 series, and a video that's going viral should give you a starter, nice job by the team. Secondly, yes the footpegs indeed are oddly placed, some ergonomic elements have taken a hit in the name classic theme, nevertheless, they all blend in well albeit at the cost of rider comfort.Originally posted by aditya13286 View PostThanks Gollum for your inputs

And you're right about the seats, they're a narrow and the feel is pretty much sitting on the chassis rods after an hour or so of riding. The seats could definitely use some hard padding which in turn would help alleviate saddlesore.
With respect to quality, the bike for the price is excellently built, and is rock solid when compared to their pushrod junks. This will last a long time to come, given it's taken care of, especially the chrome part, as they tend to rust very easily.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
Greeting for the day!
I have serviced my vehicle and below attached are the basic costs that are expected for your - First Service.
Positively the bike is now even smoother and pulls even harder than before. The SVC guys are taking special care for 650 twin owners and they will personally provide you with their and the managers vising cards. Also do expect someone from RE - Area sales manager to be visiting your house. They will come with a bouquet of flowers and personally ask for feedback of over all experience and hand their own contacts to you for any issues.
Overall i am already having a lot of hopes and positive vibes for the product. All the attention i am already feeling like a Maharaja.
Also someone asked me for the accessory cost. Apart from the fly screen Rs.1800(which they are replacing as my mom found minor scratch on it and they have agreed to fully replace it, the bill for it has not been produced).
* Important point to share is - Service interval is 10,000 km or 1 year, whichever arises first. This was communicated to me today from headquarters. Although i think its a huge interval. they might revise it like Bajaj did on Dominar changing from 7,000 kms to 5,000 kms.Last edited by Adarsh Malik; 12-29-2018, 11:54 PM.

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
test rode RE Interceptor, here are my feeling and review.
way back when i was in 9th my grandfather brought me a horse during holidays from boarding school. horse being smarter did not let me ride first half of the day, but by grandfather taught me and my end of the day that horse was friend. Kept if for two more days and i still remember the thrill and excitement riding it galloping at full speed. second time my chandigarh college friend brought his uncle's RD350, it was thrilling to ride it. and third is present day riding 650 Interceptor, it really thrilling, so much power and pickup yet so easy to handle, just like any easy to run streetfighter. It may not be harley or triumph but it is very exciting, top class fit and finish, 20-60 kmph in second gear, i rode it in gurgaon traffic easily. all required features no extra bells and whistles, yes but missed one thing, that gear indicator, it must otherwise its such josh that changing gears will not come to riders mind.
