    Re: Interceptor 650 Twin

I did make a video of the same regarding the ill design of the pegs on both the series. Some aspects of the ergonomics are compromised in the name of styling. The footpegs are ill placed, both the rider and pillion, no foot rest plate on the exhaust, such little things add to the overall buy factor of the bike. Hope to see RE working on it soon. No matter what, RE always some patching to do after launching, just RE things.

    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

      Re: Interceptor 650 Twin

Getting to hear from other threads that people have also started to face false neutrals and mis-shifts after the first servicing, anyone here with a similar issue? This news is the polar opposite of what was being said about the gear during the launch event.
I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

Very Well said. I am ok with rider footpegs but for me pillion footpegs are completely no go factor. My better half has clearly said that it is almost impossible to sit behind without burning shoes sole on longer journey. Also placement of pillion footpegs is awkward, not good for longer journey at all.

            Re: Interceptor 650 Twin

My wife was equally pissed after the test ride due to the pillion seat. I don't remember her complaining about the rear foot pegs though.

Till the launch of the twins, I was going for the Himalayan as I had expected the prices to be in the 4-5lakh range. RE ruined the Himalayan there for me.

But post the INT650 test ride, wife was hell bent on the Himalayan due to its comfort. To be honest, coming from a RE C5, the riding posture seems aggressive. It will take some time to get used to it. I could only convince my wifewife the INT after promising seat change immediately after delivery.

Then came all the ruckus about the H650 being launched somewhere in 2019. I hardly believe that. It doesn't make any sense for RE to launch the bigger Himalayan before letting the twins settle in. Moreover, I hope they do a proper test of the modified chassis before launching it.

I might go for the bigger H after waiting for around a year after its launch as its extremely comfortable.

I contacted Imran from Perfect Seats, Mumbai and he said he has the seats ready.

Too believe that Himaliyan 650 to be rumor for now, as i remember reading an article where sid lal said there won't be another 650 on twin for at least 2 year to give proper breathing space to the twins.
And now this rumor that big h is coming soon is really hard ro believe for me

This could be ploy to sell the arrived stock of gt650 as it is not receiving good booking compared to Int650. And if the company increases the price before even properly commencing the deliveries , I don't thik that it would be good move.
Already the insurance prices have gone up and could be same for rto chargers for the higher cc.
And how can someone register a int650 which haven't even dispatched from the factory where is the chassis and engine number and vin number.
Will visit my closest Dealership and confirm on this.

Some might have cancelled their booking and they must bw having some GT 650s in the showroom.
Price increase was bound to happen and it has happened real fast.
Just hoping 2019 Domi, Gixxer 250 and CB300R to come fast.

Dealers are taking booking for 2019 Dominar so and saying 1 week for delivery after launch as the dispatch is already in process. Re should also push the deliveries of at least the standard paint schemes.
I personally know few guys who have cancelled booking for Jawa due to the waiting period.

To me RE I650 makes a lot of sense but then again, I've been in Bajaj family since dad's Super. I did try to go Honda way which didn't go down well.
I would really love to see RE bettering everything they've done till date and change the perception of people. It is a very tough challenge since they still have the old engines doing duty.

Just came back from the nearest RE showroom , it is one of the oldest showroom in Delhi. The owner was there and he said yes the price for all other models would be increasing from next month but there is no notice or intimation on the 650 twins and he assured me it won't be raised this soon and even if there is a hike then it would be only 1%. For a fact the price is lower today by 300 bucks due to revised pa cover in the insurance.
Waiting period is 90 days and deliveries have started seen 2 gt 650 in white there which have arrived today for the deliveries.
Nothing is available without booking or wait in 650 range.

                            A 1% increase means a change of ex-showroom price by Rs. 2400-2600.
There's waiting in general but if a showroom has received bookings for I650 and not many for GT650 and if there is a cancellation, it means there is at least a GT650 which is available with no one to claim but has arrived at the showroom or is in the process of it.
I need to test ride the I650 properly to assess if that is something I can handle(weight only, no problems in power handling).

I saw this coming way back in November, called it back then itself on the News section thread, with the below quoted post.
Even before handful number of bike got delivered they are talking about price hike is really not a good move soon after launch like said Ijs and Akash.

But then our people and media will all only remember the launch price, such smart cunning move, now that they have got enough publicity and foot fall.
Not enough delivers of booked bikes with long waiting periods, mainly because they are pushing more bike for exports.

They should start putting more bikes on the road before talking about kind of price hikes. What happened to the whole "We want to keep the on-road prince below 3L @2.99L uniform in all cities for the standard Interceptor 650 model"

Their press statement would go like this "In a effort to give the best quality bikes to people we at RE we had increase the cost of bike by ₹1x,xxx for the rise in input cost, we always strive to give the best to our customers etc etc blah blah"

My guess only the people who booked in the beginning will be able to get the bike at current price, rest will be at new price.

The sales are already down in the last couple of months. The price rise will only help the downward spiral.

It is interesting the way these people think when the choices in the market are only increasing. (Jawa, Honda 300...)
