I received some interesting details on the 650 twins, courtesy a Royal Enfield Brand Champion.
    - The company received way more bookings at launch than expected. The number quoted is 10,000 bookings across India against a target for the quarter which was less than half of that.
    - Earlier production capacity was 20 bikes a day.
    - RE has improved its production line to now manufacture 80 bikes a day.
    - In metros, they are running a campaign to take test ride motorcycles to potential customer homes or offices to make TRs easier.
    - They are requesting owners to check service costs and ensure that rogue dealerships don't pad up the services with unnecessary add-ons to increase the bill costs. They are requesting owners to reach out to the company directly in such cases so that they can take action against these dealerships and terminate them.

Waiting for Baker Express/Ravishing Red to come on display in showroom as really like its blackened spokes/Rim. I may change my color option post that. I was told by dealer that custom colors now have time till April!

      Hi,
Even I joined xbhp today itself. Did you get any news on your interceptor yet? I too have booked from Lamba Enterprises in December. Still waiting for the delivery

I booked the Ravishing Red variant on the 25th of December, got a call yesterday to update me that my bike will be delivered in April second week. Guess the waiting period is now 90-110 days.

Hello friends, this is Madhubrat here from Bangalore. I recently got delivery of my 650 Interceptor. I had a few gaps to be cleared.
          The same are:
          1. The mufflers look misaligned to me, the right one looks a notch outward and slightly higher than the left muffler. Is it on all the Interceptors, the demo vehicle had a similar issue. Either it's my eye gone bad or my mind playing tricks.
          2. The ride is sort of stiff and on bumpy roads there are minor clatters. Tried to check if those sounds were coming in standstill position. Couldnt find any.
          3. The silencer pipe chrome gets easily scratched, I tried cleaning mine with a wet cloth and some chrome polish, and I got minor circular scratches. Is there a way to get rid of them. I am contemplating for a electroplating treatment, need your guidance here.

My bad for cribbing and not posting an ownership review first. Will follow soon with one.

            1. This is by design - your eyes are perfectly fine

            2. The INT's rear shocks are moderately tightly sprung. However, there is nothing you can do if you feel they are stiff because on the INT the rear shocks are on the softest 5 pre-loadadjustable settings. You may want to recheck this just in case the showroom changed the setting prior to delivery. CGT on the other hand is preset at 3, I guess

            3. There are many reports of the silencer scratching and of rubber soles melting on them. I am not sure if electroplating will take care of this. You can perhaps get your cans changed to Brushed Aluminium type exhausts authorized by RE as soon as they are launched.

Happy riding... Post some pics please.

I took a test ride of I650 today because of the amazing reviews and never before RE image of the 650 twin.
There have been many posts which tell the good story and I confirm that they are all true.
              Good engine
              Good gearbox
              Fantastic Brakes
Torque is sweet once it is past 2k RPM though.
It can do 55 kmph in 6th and pull cleanly without a hint of doubt or protest.

Cons - I weigh 60ish kilos and 5'6" of Horlicks went in to bring me above the sea level. The footpegs are a real troubling part. It is an intrusive design and for less Horlicks humans like me, it could be a problem.
The other part is WEIGHT. On the move it is a sweet handling bike with superb confidence. In lower speeds or U turns, it scares.
Console is super basic. It is like the Daal-Rice of all consoles of premium bikes in the world.
Headlight could have been from the TB series with a nice projector.

Fit, finish, refinement are top notch. My friends R15 V3 felt more vibey than I650.

Do I have 3L to go for it now? - Absolutely NOT!!

How will I use I650? - weekend rides. It is not a city bike for daily commutes, that's for sure for majority of the janta.

Any other bike that is under consideration - Yes. It is the 2019 Bajaj Dominar that fulfills maximum requirements and now it comes with upgrades all around. If I need to be funky and arrow fast - D390 but too much electricals is scaring me.
              Regards,

I am constantly thinking if I should buy interceptor 650 or wait for RE to fix the silencer and rear footpegs? I still have not seen any after market accessories to protect shoe sole!

Thanks a ton for the reassurance, hope I can skip that appointment with the ophthalmologist Hopefully they set it right in the first service

I guess I will do a glasswool wrap for the pipes now(later upgrade to the SS mufflers once they are available in Indian markets) and get the shockers reset to factory settings, just incase the service people tweaked it in the PDI.

Attaching a few snaps of the ride, sorry for the pixelation(my phone has a crappy camera)

You can wrap the pipes with heat shield wraps for now, I have ordered a pair of silicone muffler guards from AliExpress for the interim.

It's designed to maintain a healthy ground clearance so that you can tackle corners with confidence.

Wouldn’t the footpegs would be the ones to make first contact? Seems more like the sweep of the exhausts were whimsical of the retro design. Like the slim seat. Form didn’t follow functionality in the case of the twins evidently.

I had to say NO to RE dealer today citing my own problems with the I650.
Would have gone the loan road but then the 2 things that I had troubles with were deal breaker for me.

                            1. My physique doesn't support me while handling the I650 and
                            2. The footpegs play the villain role in increasing that feel.
It does tend to get crispy hot too so cannot have the bike as a daily ride.
I live in an area that doesn't spare me from the traffic density.
Beautiful engine, superb brakes and fantastic gearbox.
Absolutely brilliant product made for only some folks may be.

As an owner of the classic 500, I've experienced the pea shooter exhaust to bottom out on multiple occasions even before I hit the pegs. Maybe because of the length of it? I'm not entirely sure.
