Does anyone know further details about this strike? https://www.financialexpress.com/ind...o-far/1491674/

Hope it hasn't slowed down production of the Twins; especially when production is not able to meet the vehicle's demand.

Any more details will be helpful - if this has impacted the interceptor; or other enfield models in RE's range.

How much better are aluminium mirrors wrt default mirror in terms of functionality ?
There's a video posted for the seat and the mirror looks like this its just an aesthetic touch nothing much changes in functionality.

The touring mirrors on the other hand seem more useful than the Micky mouse mirrors.
I will be looking for aftermarket options though, especially bar-end since re only got them for the gt

              Hey Guys,

Iv had the interceptor for about 20 days now and covered 400km.
Last night when I took the bike for a 90km ride, I saw white smoke (more like steam) from the exhaust, the strange part is it smelled like burnt paint/thinner.
Noticed it when I stopped after about 45km of riding (highway), will have to get it checked during first service.

There was no "Steam" or smell after that first stop.
              Speed: Under 60kmph
              RPM: under 3k
              Performance: no noticeable drop

Did anyone else face this issue? I spoke to RE and they said its nothing to worry about and sometimes it does happen due to some coating on the catalytic converter.
Will post here again after first service (hopefully by early next week).

Im very happy with the bike and its quite pleasant to ride, and im getting an approx milage of about 27kmpl in city which seems quite high for a 650 :P

27kmpl? Seriously? I'm hardly getting around 17-18kmpl in the city with very little highway riding.

Can anyone suggest a good handlebar riser which would fit the INT650?

                  Hi All,
                  Myself, Sanjay from Bangalore.
I am new to this forum. Finding this thread really helpful.

I have booked Interceptor 650 (silver specter) on December 03 2018, and still awaiting delivery.

I also heard about ongoing Strikes in Chennai Royal Enfield plant. My Dealer from Bangalore said that I will receive my bike before February 25. But I feel hopeless.

What should I do? Is there a procedure that I can follow to know the bike delivery status? What are your recommendations guys?

P.S: I have no plans of canceling the bike!

yup 27+/- 2kmpl thanks to the amazingly accurate fuel gauge :P

On a serious note, I did a Full tank - Full tank calculation and it gave me something like 26.9 kmpl.
Rides are quite short in the city with less traffic, I'm guessing the mileage drops quite a bit if you keep it above the 4k RPM range, still have to test that out.

And I hardly get a chance to go above 3000-3500rpm.
Don't even get me started on the fuel gauge. For one moment you have 2 bars and if you switch off and switch on the motorcycle again, you will see the last bar blinking. Not at all trust worthy.

That is still fine I was watching the Sriman Kotaru vlog on Youtube one of his friend was complaining about fuel gauge showing full bars for first 100 kms then shows actual fuel seems the issue repeats every time he stops and starts the bike. Another Vlogger had similar issue of erratic fuel gauge and he was also complaining about random lights going on and off in speedo whenever he washes the bike.
I think fuel gauge will be a small issue will be corrected in few months.

I hope they correct it soon or else will have to keep an eye on the odometer but even then I don't know if I can trust the fuel economy as of now.

They seriously should fix the fuel gauge, its is simply put next to useless. They should have put an analogue fuel gauge that would have been much better.

Re and fuel gauges don't go well together, i lived without fuel gauge twice in past. And for a fact fuel gauges be it digital or analog on a motorcycle we have/ had here are never accurate. Dominar's fuel gauge is the most accurate that i have come accross.

                                Hi Sanjay,
I don’t think there is/are any procedures that you need to follow to know your bike delivery status. You may try writing to RE customer care/regional sales head but I am not sure if you will receive a favourable response from them. Sorry for being pessimistic here.

Continue your follow up with the dealer, if necessary, speak to owner/manager of the showroom and show them your seriousness.

Don’t loose hope. RE is very well known to keep its customers waiting, they have been doing this since 2010. I am sure you are very passionate about the bike, so hang in there, two more days for the big day!!!

                                Cheers!!!!
