Hello friends,

Here are my two bits after 1300km and one month ownership.

1. Long Rides: I did 450 km in a day along with five hours of work and it was not tiring.
2. Average: my average fuel consumption stands at 27kmpl for 1308km (1305km to be precise ODO showed 3km when I took delivery). I am not a throttle happy rider and I like speed in moderation (3K-6K rpm).
3. Bumper to Bumper Traffic: One can definitely feel the heat around inner thighs, but it gets settled pretty fast once we reach even 10kmph.

Modifications:
1. Seat (I got 2" foam added to seat for pillion seat)
2. Mob holder / charger
3. Zana touring kit (Saddle Stay + Top Rack + Pillion Back rest)
4. Windscreen: RE Screen is not adequate and I am looking for either windscreen extensions / adapt some other windscreen.

I have had no problems cruising at 90-110 with ample life left for instant pickups.

RE has used Ellen screws all over this bike and it is not most convenient. Also they had to hammer and spoil one screw to install saddle stay. I replaced it with normal hexagonal shaped screw for future convenience.

Apparently people are getting deliveries on spot also, 2 days back a guy in Noida bought a black colour one on spot no waiting. And this is the second such incident which i have come to know.
Whereas others like us are waiting from eternity. Something is seriously wrong with re Dealerships. I went yesterday to inquire about mine but they still have no clue.

Yes bhai Dominar is already sold.Sure when i do it i will share the details, most probably it would be alloys from re itself as tyres are already tubeless just needs rims to support.

Hi All,

I didn't see much about service in this forum yet, but I have one question regarding it. Does the 650 twins get some kind better service experience in the sense for example I have CBR which has to be serviced only with service centers which have separate enclosed service bays and mechanics which are trained by Honda (some times these guys service Activa and Hornet in same bay but Activa/Hornet mechanic never touches the CBR). Are 650's serviced by mechanics trained by RE or anyone in RE SVC can service the bike ?

P.s. I understand the 650 is mostly mechanical bike and doesn't vary too much apart from additional cylinder compared to traditional RE bike but just wanted to know.

Yes, I was told there are special bays and technicians allotted for the 650 twins.

So, a bit of an update.
I was a bit busy couldn't ride as much as I hoped. I crossed the 500 km mark only last Friday.

Yesterday, I was shocked to find my front tire flat. Removed the front wheel myself as none of the mechanics in my neighborhood were willing to come by. Later took the front wheel to a puncture shop to discover that the CEAT made tube had a crack and started to lose pressure the tire guy also told me that the tube was a size smaller than the tire. I was concerned so rang up the service manager he promptly sent me a technician with a replacement tube within 30min replaced the tube and fitted the tire back on the bike.

Now, I'm a bit worried. How can a brand new tube crack like that? What if this happened during a ride? The technician assured me that this is a tested tube-tire combination and the mismatched size is not an issue and this is a one-off issue probably some manufacturing defect and as long as I maintain 32ps there won't be an issue blah, blah, blah I'm not convinced. Should I send a mail to RE? I'm really looking forward to switching over to the alloys soon.

In other news, I'm getting around 26-27 KM/L which is pretty cool.

Yes definitely send a mail to re , and the main reason for this could be that the tyres are actually tubless and are of 18 inch size and re has sourced the tubes from ceat as the rims are wire spokes and now day 18 inch tyre is considered odd size so the availability of 18 inch tubes matching the size could be the issue.
But one size difference will work . I have in past used smaller size tube on bigger size tyre.
Do write a mail to re and keep us posted.

I second Manimaaran. Not only they have allotted setup for 650 Twin category, RE in Ahmedabad has been super supportive. They have gone out of their ways to help me.
