The seat moves and makes noise like kat kat when riding over bad roads. The back portion is not seated properly got it checked at the service center but they told me they will do it at the first service. By the look on their faces seems like i am the 1st one to visit the svc on the Interceptor. But i met my old known mechanic there he assured me that he will speak with engineer and will fix the issue.
Has anyone faced this. Seems like the rubbers under the seat are at fault.

Bit the Bullet, and booked my Baker Express today. Now starts the long wait and hunt of mods for seat, handlebar and foot pegs. Btw showroom guy told me RE is working on some changes in handlebars, ETA June.

Hello friends. For the 1st time I am posting on this forum . I got my interceptor650 delivered on 31.03.19 & till now have done around 150 odd kms on it & all within city.I am getting a mileage of 15.05 kmpl. Is it normal ? Another point I noticed is that the engine settles to around 1200 idling rpm on reaching ambient temperature.

Don't calculate the fuel efficiency just now it is too early. Keep the rpm in 3 to 4k range and try not to cross 4k till first service or. Breakin period. 1200 rpm at idel is good and normal. I got the bike on 3/4/19 just did my first highway ride on it.
Shift gear at around 2.5k rpm or 3k rpm from second onward and the bike gets into powerband at 2.5k rpm.

About the bike:
The bike is excellent, the ride is great, great power, smooth engine. There are heaps of great things about the bike, and everything has been mentioned by others in great length so not going to repeat it. I'll mention some negatives but bear in mind that the positives far outweigh the negatives.

Gear shift: The gear shift is not smooth, and I get a lot of false neutrals. When I say it is not smooth, I mean the ^clunck^ sound. Most false neutrals are from 4th to 5th and 5th to 6th. To put it into perspective I get maybe 1 false neutral in around 50 gear shifts. Not many users have reported this, so I assume this is one off for my bike.
Heating: The thing does heat up. The first 100 KMs was terrible, and I seriously thought I would be olxing the bike in a few weeks. The heating has since settled and is bearable now. But it is definitely there.
Rider Footpeg: This is a pain. I am 5 8" and every time you put the foot down the peg is there waiting to irritate you. I think over time I will get used to it, but moving the bike with the foot is a real struggle. Moving forward is OK since you can put the foot in front of the pegs and as you push forward the calf would hit the peg and peg would fold backward, but pushing the bike back, you always hit the shin on the peg.
Pillion Footpeg: Don't want to talk about this. What was RE thinking? How could such a design pass through R&D? Yes, we all know that the whole bike was a copy paste from Triumph bonnie, Street twin, but they surely could have done this better. I am hoping to get an aftermarket exhaust, something similar to the Bonneville bobber, then somehow move the footpeg lower.
Once the bike is warmed up, there is a tick tick noise when running at low revs of every gear. For example 2nd gear at 2100 RPM. Not sure if this is due to being at the lower rev band for that gear.

Mileage:

100% Highway	30 KMPL	200 KMs, always below 80 KMPH.
90% City + 10% Highway	22 KMPL	200 KMs, many start-stops, running mostly in 3rd, 4th and 5th gears.
50% City + 50% Highway	24.5 KMPL	230 KMs.

Overall, I am very impressed with the bike, and a happy customer, thanks RE.

For those who want to check the delivery date, you can call the RE customer care and they will take your phone number and tell you what the approx delivery date is. My date was sometime in April, but I got lucky because the customer who was before me at my dealer backed out, and I got it earlier.

What adds to the pain is the fact that they called me and asked to pay in full and even after that they are clueless. Reason enough to shake and shiver even before becoming an owner.

First of all congratulations !! That's my favorite color in Interceptor the only thing that would make it even more sweeter if engine was blacked out but still a good looker.

This pricing makes no sense to me In Chennai Ex Showroom it is 2,57,906 and tax is just 21,283 (48,000 for tax is outrageous) and insurance is more or less same.
The bike is manufactured Chennai but why there's almost 15,000 more is out of my understanding.

RE has varied the Ex-Showroom price across states so that the On-Road-Price stays the same. Tax is higher in Kerala and still, we have the worst roads in the country.

After the first service, I have been getting this tick tick noise at low RPMs. This happens only after the engine heats up, and I have clocked around 800 Kms till now. Took it to RE service today, and my worst fears have come true. It is indeed the dreaded Tappet Noise. I have been asked to bring it in tomorrow to do the tappet adjustment.

Just when I was beginning to feel that the Twins are far apart from the RE Bullets, here comes a bombshell. Hope this doesn't become a routine thing every 1000 Kms.

RE has reduced the ex-showroom price in Karnataka and kerala since their local road tax is higher than remaining states. It is in fact a nice gesture from RE. It is just that KA/KL governments charge outrageous amounts of tax, despite not doing much to improve road conditions.

I'm facing the same issue with gear shifting. I've visited the service center but they refuse to acknowledge that there is any issues with the gears.

Either the grade of oil is not good or the clutch cable requires some adjustments.

Alloy wheels are good , but I wish they added spoke wheels which can support tubeless tire as an option it would be pricey for sure but will be a really cool compared to alloys.
