In other news, Royal Enfield have launched 2D scale models for the 650 twins. If anyone's interested, here's the link to it --> https://store.royalenfield.com/collections/scale-model
    Thank you.

Wow I love that black classic scale model!

In Pune, there is a 4 month waiting for Continental GT for every colour and 6 months for Interceptor as per the dealer! I wanted to buy the Continental GT but the waiting period was a bummer for me. I guess I should visit the dealership again.

4 months waiting is a very long time, even I wouldn't have bought it

That's really interesting. Just last week I checked their website if the exhaust was available, it showed no results. Looks like they went all guns blazing yesterday.

So for just around ₹50,000 and extra labour charges from the 865cc big bore kits you will will be getting more performance than the 2019 Street Twin and almost the same power of Ducati Monster 797, both costing around ₹8.5-9.7lakhs on road.

If these are official and authorised kits from Royal Enfield and if it keeps the warranty intact, then it's an AMAZING deal for riders who want that extra oomph from Interceptor.

              Cheers!

I like the 3D scale model of Desert Storm.

Finally, this is how official S&S exhaust sounds like.

This exhaust makes it sound like a Harley now. I kinda feel it's still slightly more loud even with the db killer. Seems to have a higher performance bump when coupled with their air filter.

Mechanically, there won't be any change apart from color. Make sure, you have the right model tank, GT or Interceptor's. If you have a GT, stick to GT tank and vice versa. As long as you use the right part, there is nothing to worry.

                    Cheers!

                    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Such drastic changes will most likely not be by RE and will most likely void the warranty

When i took the test drive of the continental gt i wasn't happy at all with the rear view mirrors, they were vibrating and the field of view wasn't good, specially the right side one. I tried to adjust it but still no difference. So are the bar end mirrors any good apart from the aesthetics? I am getting my GT on Wednesday and i want a better set of mirrors.
                        Peace

Got the first service done this Saturday where they did tappet adjustment and changed the oil. Two issues cropped up immediately after:

                            1) The bike started behaving erratically and shutting down on my way home. I stopped at another RE workshop along the way and they diagnosed that one of the spark plug caps wasn't working. They replaced it and the bike started running fine.

                            2) Yesterday on my way back home from work there was a lot of traffic and it started heating up. The bike refused to rev smoothly in the 1200 - 2000 rpm range and kept shutting down / choking like it wasn't getting any air.

Going to the service centre this morning to figure out what the issue is, I think it's to do with the tappet adjustment because the bike was perfectly fine pre-service. Will update once they diagnose and figure it out.

Bro, this isn't a factory kit, it's an aftermarket kit provided by S&S performance as mentioned in the article.

Got my interceptor 650 today, mark three black. In retrospect this is one of the most boring bikes that I have driven even amongst the RE units. Unsteady at low speeds, unplanted in the mud and grime, and for its engine capacity frankly slow in the highways.

The closest comparison I would make is to my Rajdoot 350, which through the years have been running on salvaged parts, cdis and bored out barrels; which in fact despite its bastardised nature still smokes the interceptor.

The Int is smooth as the Japanese without the power, retro like the Europeans without the feedback.

An unsure figure filled with mixed afterthoughts, much like an indian immigrant, looking forward to the new country yet shackled by old superstitions.

This is the bike that should have been released in 1970's.

Perhaps its one way of ensuring that the current generation could get a taste of what was like when, when their fathers rode.

This is its redemption and perhaps the key, in todays generation of electronic jetskis.
