It's a fun little bike from test ride experience having all machinery from D200 and makes exactly 60% power of D200.
If I was in the market for a new premium entry level bike or a 2nd bike to my RC390 I'd have got for the D125 eyes closed.
I'd rather pay ₹1.5L for D125 instead of paying ₹1L for Pulsar 150, ₹1.15L for Gixxer/FZ, ₹1.2L for 200NS!
You get so much better equipment for a mere ₹30-40K.
Its like relating to car world where if I own a bulky Fortuner as my primary car, I'd rather want to buy Mercedes Benz A-class hatchback at ₹25L as my secondary car instead of buying i20/Baleno/Polo for ₹10L.Bajaj SuperFE 150 - Forever in my heart

Any idea, how the top-end of the Duke 125 will be? Will it be good for touring, say around 400-600 km/day?

Isn't the rear sprocket of MT15 different from R15V3? I think the top end performance of MT15 is not as good as R15V3.

I don't think Duke 125 can do 100kph easily. But i think it would feel comfortable at 80kph

Isn't the rear sprocket of MT15 different from R15V3? I think the top end performance of MT15 is not as good as R15V3.
Update: I could not get the bike today due to Ugadi.
Tomorrow is Sunday and i don't know if the dealership is open.
My best hope it's Monday. The least ideal day to take delivery. Heavy traffic, almost sundown, can't go home and go anywhere else to ride. Can't even give enough time to the new bike ownership feeling to set in.Hero Honda Splendor (June 2001- Present)

Coming to the BIKE. It was a horrific experience.
When I started my journey from the dealership I was told that there was 2 Litre petrol in the tank.
I joined rush hour traffic of 7pm. and drove for about 2kms in stop and go traffic.
I stopped and filled about 5Lt fuel and thats when it all started.
I saw that the fuel meter did not change its state and the temperature had shot up to almost full.
I called the dealership and and they asked me to run a bike a little and it would fill up slowly.
To my relief the fuel meter changed its state. But the heat meter kept on rising and later stayed at the below state.

I thought to myself that I have made a bad decision. I drove a total of 26 Kilometers of sadness and dismay.
I was robbed of the joy and happiness of owning a new Bike and the first ride.
62 minutes later I reached home, I called up my buddy who owns a duke 200. My first question to him was, "Dude, is this heat indication normal?".
To my surprise, he said, "Yes, its perfectly normal. This is how its designed". I was taken aback from his reply. I was still not convinced and I shared a photo of my bikes dash with him.

Looking at this, he said that this is normal. The bars increase when the engine is off after a ride in traffic.

Congratulations Niku. The fuel gauge sometimes just takes time to get calibrated, since the bike being new and tank dry, now that the gauge works, do keep a tab on the gauge next time when you fill her up. The gauge should show the readings almost instantaneously when you fill her up. Secondly, with respect to the temperature gauge, new bikes run hot and it's normal to see temp shooting up, which is normal for the Duke series, especially when you get caught up in traffic and B2B traffic. The temperature should settle down once the bike clocks some more kms and the services done accordingly. Now that I drove to office today on the Dukie, I can share my thoughts.
The bike struggles if the RPM is low and if you try to shift gears below 4k RPM.
Apart from that, at around 4-6k RPM the bike is really smooth. No vibrations at all. I can call it as smooth as my R3.
The bike does not shake or vibrate at idle as well.
On a 13km journey to work today, the average mileage reached 48Km/l on the dashboard.

Although many new generation of dukes has came ,there still exists the heat problem. No matter what others deny , Duke owners are accustomed to the heat dissipation. However the (Heat) Temperature guage you've mentioned is the normal one !!!

So far I've not felt any heat with my Duke. But i haven't ridden it much. However in the same amount of traffic my R3 will burn my legs and ask me to park it at a side till the traffic has cleared.Originally posted by Aswinlogi View PostCongrats on your bike:

Congrats for the new bike.
Regarding heat, did the radiator fan kick in when the temperature reached almost full. Please share with us more about the bikes performance(Pickup, speed, Smoothness,stability, Comparison with Duke 200, etc.)
The other day, while I was in a Red signal, a Duke 125 arrived. Once the signal turned green, it just flew away. It has got a good acceleration. It's acceleration is as good as a 200NS and I was amazed with it's performance. Between, I was in my 200NS.
