Re: WSBK 2015 Championship - Update

Oops. Yeh didn't notice that miss till you pointed it out.

I'm sure it have been stellar if it was live. But me being so impatient read the result online and then saw the race after download. Yeh panigale seems to be ditching every now and then. It is worse when it happens with someone at the front. :P

Re: WSBK 2015 Championship - Update

Rea 2nd in both races. Sykes finally got a double win. Gap has reduced but still a long way to go.
It would have been great to see the atmosphere to see the British riders occupying the podium steps.

You should check out the Double Save from Rea in Race 2. Crazy stuff.

Edit: Here's the link to that - https://www.facebook.com/WorldSBK/vi...type=2&theater

We are in for a treat today. Star sports showing wsbk live. Race 1- Rea,2nd Sykes, 3rd Davis. Rea already has 305 points midway in the championship.
Supersports is live as I type and then we have the super bike race at 5:10pm IST.

Re: WSBK 2015 Championship - Update

The runaway Kawasaki attack on WSBK is making it terribly boring. Not like earlier, with everyone dicing it right down to the last lap. Rather processional with a handful of overtaking manoeuvres!

Aaah I missed it. By the time I switched on the TV they were telecasting Super Stock race. Any link where I could watch the WSBK race?

Re: WSBK 2015 Championship - Update

Max Biaggi to return to WSBK for two wild cards. Hopefully he will bring in some life into the series and championship. First Bayliss and then Biaggi. Hope Checa, Spies and other former WSBK racers should return for cameo appearances, only then WSBK will get somewhat interesting!!!

                  WSBK 2015 Championship - Update

Anybody following wsbk? That former champ is topping the chart in FP. Didn't expect him to be up to speed so quick. I'm out of Delhi, touring Darjeeling right now, so I'm definitely going to miss the race. He's definitely going to rob the Kawasakis of some championship points. I just hope he only holds off Rae and not Sykes :P
Wish this race happens to be good enough to download.

Yeah what a comeback by Mad Max. This is the masala that WSBK needs and has been lacking this season. What a champion he is!

Also shows the level of competition currently in WSBK i think. Biaggi, Checa and Melandri were probably a cut above the rest.

I hope he continues this good from in superpole and the races as well. Go Biaggi!

Re: WSBK 2015 Championship - Update

Finally after such a long time, with no F1 this weekend, star sports will be showing live telecast of the Leguna Seca round of the WSBK.
Telecast starts at 11:30pm Sunday night on star sports 4. Hopefully will watch both races if I don't fall asleep. If it was motogp there wasn't any doubt, but WSBK bikes are simply slower. :P

Re: WSBK 2015 Championship - Update

Ducati won race one. But the battle to watch was for 2nd place between the Kwakers. Rea tried everything to beat Sykes but nothing worked. All the passes, all the moves, Sykes was always able to come back and take his place immediately. Very conservative ride by Sykes and both Kawasakis.

It was an awesome couple of races from the race reports that i read. Unfortunately couldn't watch the races.

Good job by Davies, though he does have the benefit of having raced in the American Superbike Championship for a couple of seasons. Good to see some red at the front instead of the green of the Kawas.

Though the win was a tame affair, the fight for the podium and 4th place was pretty interesting in both races. Good to watch racing at Laguna Seca again.

                            WSBK 2015 Championship - Update

Yeh, the result was same for top 3 in both the races, but the fight for position was interesting at the back.
Leguna doesn't have much overtaking spots unless you are Rossi or Marc. :P
I saw Rea having a hard time passing Sykes. The moment he lunged to overtake there comes a corner and you have to turn in. Either you have to innovate or have a significantly faster ride to move ahead of the field. But I miss the Leguna on the motogp calendar. I love watching the prototypes going around the cork screw.

Yeah indeed watching WSBK at Laguna Seca shows to some extent the difference between MotoGP riders and machines. Good to watch. Giugliano had a bad crash, fortunately he came away unscathed

Re: WSBK 2015 Championship - Update

Yeh good that he's safe. Btw, one Ducati rider, I guess it was Matteo, dropped the Panigale right at the start, on the grid in race one. Broke his brake lever guard and damaged his brakes because of which he couldn't encounter the cork screw and went off track. Was funny to see that in top level racing.
Any idea about the Suzuki, I guess they have a new model planned for next year. A new GSXR1000?
