MotoGP: New Ducati GP10 engine. Big Bang.

Source: Return of Big Bang at Ducati pits

My Comments: It was already known that Honda would be offering its checkbook to Casey Stoner to sign him up.
So, Ducati had to do something sooner than later, about the engine, which was well exploited only by Casey Stoner till date. I mean, should Stoner leave, they should have a useable bike atleast.

Its great to know that both riders are showing good initial results, although tests will differ from the actual race.

Despite being a Rossi fan, I love to see Stoner win. I mean, a younger guy on a small Italian factory's racing bike, winning against the older legends & Japanese giants... It gives a great feeling!

I've once had a chance to ride the Descmosedici RR (which is way way different than it's MotoGP version) and I can testify people having problem in controlling the beast!!

Riding at 240kmph and not feeling as if you are making this speed can be quite unnerving.

It would be really very interesting to see the clash between Ducati and Yamaha this year!!

off subject. just wanted to say this. Spies better win a gp this year since no elias means, the last guy to win a GP on a non factory bike on this years grid is... Marco Melandri with the same team he is racing for back in 2006. wow.

Got this regulation update from the MotoGP website :-
(might cause a major upset some this year )
It was confirmed last December that the maximum engine capacity would increase to 1000cc for the start of the 2012 season with a maximum number of four cylinders and a maximum bore width of 81mm, and on Wednesday the GP Commission announced further specifications.
These will include a minimum weight of 153kg for bikes over 800cc and 150kg for machines up to 800cc, a maximum number of six engines available for use by each rider, and a fuel tank capacity of 21 litres.

There was also an announcement about the exception for private teams, who will have different limitations. These will be that each rider will be able to use 12 engines per season, and with a fuel tank capacity of 24 litres. This new regulations will be further defined by the end of May, with these teams to be referred to as Claiming Rule Teams (CRT).

In addition to these specifications, the Commission unanimously decided to introduce amendments with regards to tyre pressure for 2010. For the forthcoming season tyre pressure sensors will not be allowed, with tyre temperature sensors already prohibited.

From GP Commission announce MotoGP Technical Regulations | The Official MotoGP Website
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Guys, is it possible that Stoner and Hayden use differently configured machines? One using a Big Bang and the other a screamer?

Because, Ducati is right when they want an all round machine, BUT if Stoner is good on a screamer, it should be left that way only.
Let's hope Stoner's performance is not affected by all this change...

I love seeing that kid whack legends twice the age, and Large Japanese corporates bigger than Ducati... It puts a devilish smile on my face!
