I have been following this industry seriously since 1998.
And I am fully aware that Hero Honda was in talks with Aprilia back in 2004, but nothing fruitful ever emerged in terms of products for India.

Some things never change
Visiting xBHP after more than a year.
Things never change around here.
No matter how many bikes come how many bikes go we still have the same fights.
The name is thrilling. I might have seen it near the Hosur factory (I go that side a lot now a days). Not sure though. The bike I saw under test, was red, very much like the RTR now. I don't want to disappoint any one, never got a chance to see it in close up, just passing by.

@MACH50
your story makes sense (at least to me...
)
According to you, TVS launched RTR180 to compete with Karizma...
but
I think TVS just killed 2 birds with 1 stone.
Engine Capacity-180cc (To compete with P180)
Power- 17bhp (To compete with Karizma)
Now TVS might do the same with its Hyper-Edge...
(chances are 1/100)

Engine Capacity- 220cc(To compete with ZMR)
Power- 25bhp (To outrun p220)
add 3 valves, no vibes, rear disc and half fairing...

New-P180 is too weak when it comes to RTR180 comparison.Quote P220 in case of a RTR180.Originally posted by badbikerboy View PostEngine Capacity-180cc (To compete with P180)

The older P180s were the really strong ones a metal feeling.I had one of them,Black Edition.
The P180 of nowadays feels like soft sponge in comparison.
I don't expect a 220cc TVS anymore.Because if TVS uses its racing kit(which it displayed and whose news of presence is doing daily rounds at Xbhp) as an option for RTR180 bikes,believe me its gonna smoke both ZMR and P220 good time in straight line.And it is also going to become the fastest Track bike,along with Yamaha R15.Always remember R15 was never about straight-line torque,it was always about performance at its best,which means,low vibration at high revs,dynamic and precise handling and Top speed down the straights.Not to forget that racing kits are also available for R15(though I heard,they are costly and are not VFM kits,TVS's kits would be better off)
I hope next Flagship in the TVS line up is a 250cc,possible only if Bajaj and Hero Honda launches them first.Last edited by MACH50; 08-03-2010, 01:38 AM.Hell's Angel
