This much talked about divorce, if it happens.. then it's going to be defining moment for Hero group in two wheeler's space.. at the same time this move could be double edged sword for Honda.. if Hero manages to find it's feet post split. +

this is something i want to happen. Am now fed up of hero honda's marketing strategy. Always launching the same bike with a negligible modification in engine & a new art work. At least the honda would do something better by launching different bikes.

+100, New sticker, new looks, new bike.

At least 2 125cc's of HSMI has different number of gears(4&5).

But it does seem that Bajaj is having most tactical advantage with this split up.

yes the bajaj would have the highest advantage of it. But if the things didnt went well for bajaj then it can be quite opposite. The honda & yamaha sales are posing a serious threat for bajaj. Although those sales no.s nothing when compared to that of bajaj but the growth is very rapid.
Maybe this is a reason why bajaj is upgrading its mopdels very soon & launching better ones with more power, mileage & VFM.

Bajaj & TVS will certainly benefit if the split happens, but to what extent depends on how well they are prepared for it. As of now.. it seems like Bajaj is better prepared as it has options in every segment, if you leave scooters. TVS has options in scooters space, but in bikes.. it's not very well placed. Though Jive is a good attempt by TVS, it needs much bigger success than that to gain from Hero - Honda split.

HONDA has gone real aggressive these days in promoting their products.Prolly this divorce is ON!!!

I have a HONDA showroom next to my room. Those guys organize a huge setup for marketing Twister every weekend. Serve snacks to the present as well as prospective customers. Around 10 twisters fitted with a oil container to prove the mileage figures and a tag right on front visor reading 70KMPL. Jeez!!!

And surprisingly the turnout is huge every weekend(prolly because of free snacks ).Planning to have my share next weekend
                ...Back to HIBERNATE mode...

                  +1,
The TVS is not very well prepared but its somewhat ok when compared to suzuki & others.
But i would like to make one comment that the indian market is highly unpredictable.

When the Japanese counterparts of TVS and Bajaj left, both survived and flourished. Its just that these two worked on R&D. If Hero can do some indigenious work (which it hasn't done ever), even Hero should be able to do fine.
