Obviously nothing to surprise; I'm ready to buy one, when a manufacturer can produce a scooter...
      1. That gives a 200+ Km range
      2. In the speeds of 70 Kmph
      3. Keeping the cost under 65K
      4. Takes 15 minutes to charge upto 80%
      5. GUARANTEE the battery life upto 3 years?

      Why alone blame Govt subsidy?

Even a pedal driven Atlas Goldline (The Milkman cycle) has a better top speed than 85% of all electric scooters. To top it, it takes an eternity to charge.. They are trying to sell sub-standard products and for competition they have something like a Discover 100.. no wonder sales are dropping. I would rather have something that runs 70km/litre and has the capability of doing 90 odd.. rather than something which costs the same money.. but struggles to do 35kmph.

I don't think it is cheaper in any way. You get to use it less, they have awful range, above all... they are dangerous to use even in the city (they are too F'in slow). Finally, the money you save on petrol, you eventually spend later on replacing the battery every year(and a half MAX).
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

+1 to that. They must try to bring simple electric vehicles like electric cycles which would not cost much and seems much stronger than these big plastic toys. people wont give priority to looks[atleast myself] of a electric vehicle if it delivers some where close to 100-150 range and atleast 50 kmph. Good luking and fast E vehicles are miles miles away in india.
on 4 wheels u feel the speed after a crash, 2 wheelers are much more advanced

Wrong, because of this belief, this companies are bleeding. I own a Yo EXL R -
Top speed 55 KMs (True speed) shows 63 - 64 Kmph on meter.
            Range - Advance speed - 60Kms - Normal speed - 80Kms
Charging time - 3 hours to full charge - 20mins to 80% charge.
Battery expectancy: 2+ years - Cost of changing the battery - 7K + 150 labor.

We have total of 3 electric scooter 2 are 3 year old and batteries are yet to be changed and this 2 vehicles are used to transport automobile spare parts to small shops in Baroda. Daily they clock 80 kms and have zero maintenance.

I use it daily for office traveling, trust me for city 50 - 55kms top speed is enough... For everything else i have Yamaha R15. period.

@jigar I knew you would reply to this particular thread. and so I used the 85% catchphrase. Agreed, this particular scooter IS a good product.. and it falls in the remaining 15% . But still, the remaining 85% still fall in the category I described. People are voting with their wallets I guess. Results are visible in sales figures.

Heh, correct my friend. But i see a lot of people criticizing the technology which is still in the growing phase. I agree, there are bad products, but people are still not aware, how torquey this babies are. People have asked me a lot of time can battery scooter pull. I mean if they weight 85KG will a small battery scooter pull their weight, and i simply laugh and say yes this vehicles are torque monsters.

EDIT: PS: People will have to give this industries some time. The more people buy this scooter the more money will be put into the R&D to make better product. In the end of the day, we have to realize, battery and fuel cell is out future. You deny it now, you will have to go with them eventually.
