Nobody interested in the fact that people could take their bikes there for trackdays, assuming it is allowed? It says "compatible for MotoGP" on the image...

Very good news for INDIA!!...its really a good prospect for motorsports in India. If this happens and is successful then it wont be long to see a good lot of Indian divers and riders entering world events in the future.....

              What is homologation?

Some of us might wonder what is homologation of the racetrack as mentioned in the news link. To help understand it, here is some information:

With the general trend of motorsports moving away from Europe and to a global fanbase, new tracks have been built in various nations to provide new challenges, keep the calendar fresh, and showcase the nations that host them. After mustering the political will and millions of dollars to build these new circuits yet before the world descends upon them, there is an exacting process that must be undertaken to ensure the integrity of the track: homologation.

From the Greek word homologeo meaning "to agree", homologation is a technical term signifying that the track meets the conditions of Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) approval. In short, tracks shouldn't be too hard or too easy for drivers to reach the finish line. More specifically, the homologation process ensures fair competition and safety by keeping the following in check:
              • Shape of the Circuit - Maximum permitted length for straits are 2km. Any new circuit should not exceed 7km.
              • Width - Track width should be at least 12m and at least 15m at the starting grid.
              • Longitudinal Profile - The gradient of the start/finish straight shouldn't exceed 2%.
              • Transversal Inclination, Drainage - Systems for adequate drainage of water from the track, pit lane, paddock and public areas.
              • Track Edges, Verges and Run-off Areas - A permanent track should be bordered along the entire length of the primary track on both sides by continuous white lines clearly marked in anti-skid paint.
              • Starting Straight - There should be at least 6m length of grid between each car (8m for the F1 World Championship). There should preferably be at least 250m between the starting line and the first corner.
              • Protective Measures - Considerations to protect spectators, drivers, race officials, and service personnel.
              • Circuit Buildings and Installations - Race Control, Marshals' Posts, Pits, Paddock area, Medical Centers, etc.
              • Service Roads - To enable the emergency vehicles to reach, unimpeded, any point of the track and the medical center and the exits from the circuit quickly.
              • Measurement of Circuit Length - The length of the circuit is considered to be that of the centerline of the track.
              • Facilities for the Disabled - wheelchair access, reserved parking spots, etc.
              • Trackside Advertising and Structures - Location and characteristics should not interfere with drivers' and officials' visibility and not to produce an adverse or misleading optical effect. No form of advertising is permitted on the track surface. All signs must be designed to break if impacted into lightweight, harmless pieces.
              • Accident Reporting - The circuit owner is responsible for reporting to the FIA any damage to cars and circuit features.
              • Circuit Maintenance - Proper maintenance of the circuit and its installations
If the FIA inspectors are happy with what they see, a circuit license is granted stipulating the conditions under which it may be used and the categories of cars and events which may be admitted. New circuits bring new thrills and challenges. New thrills and challenges are what fans want to see. Ready, set, go!

It must be, One of the regulations for laying out the F1 track is that it must be near to airport and must be reachable in 30minutes I guess.

Dont remember exactly though. Read all these when plans for F1 Track was proposed in Hyderabad long back (even land was identified ).

Not to disappoint any of the F1 fan. I am also a great Fan of F1.

But the news was floating around that Kalmadi's son, Daughter & his son-in-law are linked in JPSK Sports ( JPSK Sports, a subsidiary of Jaiprakash Associates ). Hope there is no conman- (interest in) -wealth in Formula 1.

Hope there are no last minute hitches ( touchwood) and races happen as scheduled.

                        a place to ride

more exciting than the F1 is the fact there would be a race track in delhi
Looking at other F1 tracks around the globe two major spin off will happen, a lot of other forms of racing will come into play.

And for all the superbiker a place to ride the bike withiut worring about the dogs and stuff.

Even better and i saw this in Bharian F1 a lot of bikers were riding around the outer track during the race they are vouleneer for ther races as Marshal etc these are bikers they ride around the track and ensure saftey and (like no cows straying on the road ) stuff..

so here is hope for all of us

My dream of a track day might just become a reality.

More than the F1, I am also desparate for the track to open for Normal people to use. I should start saving.
