  • Thieves love your black Pulsar!

    Why Pulsar is a favourite
    How they do it
Where they are stolen and sold
The highest number of bike thefts take place in crowded places, especially in peripheral areas like Madiwala-Koramangala, HSR Layout, J P Nagar, Byatarayanapura, Peenya, Marathalli, etc. Professional bike lifters either dispose of the bikes in neighbouring states or districts like Ramnagaram. In fact, there are garages in these areas that specalise in giving stolen bikes a completely different look, all within a matter of minutes!

However, there are a few thieves who sell the bikes to youngsters in the city, especially college-students, for meagre sums ranging between Rs 3,000 and Rs 5,000. While some gangs offer fake vehicle documents, others dispose of the vehicles in the scrap market.

And that is why, whenever possible, I always park my black pulsar in a pay and park / underground parking.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

These places (also) only give you a false sense of security/safety of the bike. The parking ticket usually mentions "Parking at owner's risk". So if the bike is gone, they will raise their hands.

PS: Your bike wasn't parked underground or in pay & park near Empire. The angels were with your Black Pulsar.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

At empire, I had tipped the security guard to take care of the luggage + bike in the 'free' parking.

                    Nice!
I was more skeptical about the safety of the luggage than the bikes.

PS: I wish there was a 'like' button here too.

The reason for these easy thefts is due to EASY ACCESS to the LOCK-LEVERS.. They're just a TINY PROTUSION at the bottom of the lockset body against which the lever rests.. If you break open that thing, then the bike isn't locked anymore.. Someone even posted the photos related to it on another thread in xBhp, dunno where..

I know you Bajaj Guys are reading these posts.. You guys don't care about CUSTOMER FEEDBACK by e-mail.. Atleast now, do something and make a FAULT-FREE DESIGN or make that lockset lever INACCESSIBLE..

Grrr.. Wish the ARAI would look into such MAJOR ISSUES before road-legalizing a bike rather than making every two wheeler fit a SAREE GUARD..

P.S: MG Bhai, since you guys are now into magazines, you guys must be able to contact someone at ARAI.. Pl put forward this point so that thousands of people don't lose their bikes to such petty effing thieves due to India's 2nd largest bike maker's idiotic design flaws..

Maybe i am going too far beyond the imaginations but i have seen that a lot of people park their bikes in the no parking zone & a van comes to collect those vehicles (police). These thieves can also come disguised like that & steal the bikes & if anyone asks they can tell that they are clearing the bikes from the no parking zone.

so what's the next step, keep a chain and also a lock, when u know ur out for a long time chain ur bike passing the rear wheel and tying both the rear shocks so that even if the handle lock is broken theh bike wont move ahead
