Its not as simple as you think.. There are a lot of constraints in the facilities that manufacture these gearbox sprockets, rear wheel sprockets and chains.. The company which makes these chains has to manufacture 5+ lakh units for OE supply alone, after which they will have to cater to Dealership Market.. Usually, the service centers buy in lots of 200-300 sets for commuter bikes.. But, when they order for premium bikes, they've to give a minimum order of 50 sets.. The dealer will not be willing to see his money sitting in a shelf.. SO, the spares for premium bikes are harder to come by..Originally posted by aargee View PostA month or 3, but if Satyamzma is able to help, there's nothing like it. I'm also in Chennai.. When i visited the PBK this time, i was informed that i will have to give order by a whole month in advance if i want my GearBox Sprocket, Rear Wheel Sprocket and Chain to be replaced during my regular service visit..
I know this whole system and how it works because i was working in a company for 1.5 years before i quit to pursue my masters.. So, its neither the company's fault nor the supplier's fault.. Its a vicious circle..

As a customer I don't CARE how vicious cycle it is nor I don't care its their problem. Would you go to a hotel & wait for 2 hours to get a cup of coffee if they said they've gone to buy the roasted beans? I wouldn't.
As a customer, I'd expect all services at door steps & readily available. I cannot keep my motorcycle in garage for weeks together just because its all complicated & goes into vicious cycle. Would you do that? Would you lock up your ride in garage? I wouldn't.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

And its bound to happen even more in the future thanks to the demand in production..Originally posted by anmol_1990 View Postwhen a company launches a new model then they should also concentrate on service and spares department which hh/h aren't doing........

I wouldn't neither.. But then, we've got NO SAY in these sorta stuff.. I was just trying to make you understand that the company cannot a afford a LINE-STOPPAGE situation because it diverted its parts to the dealership rather than the assembly line.. Also, its not like the company's DEPENDING on a few ZMR customers to maintain its profit margin or its image.. It'll look at tapping the potential market of 110+ crore people out there rather than satisfying a few customers who opted for their premium product.. As far as i know, once your money is in their kitty, you're their slave rather than a customer.. And its not just HH.. Every auto major in India is like that.. Including Maruti Suzuki who CLAIM that they've been 1st in the JD Power Customer Satisfaction Survey for years together..Originally posted by aargee View PostAs a customer I don't CARE how vicious cycle it is nor I don't care its their problem. A small OT: If this is the level of service offered to ZMR, i can ONLY imagine the plight of CBR customers in the future..

Just for everyone's info.. This isn't the thing with just two wheeler industry.. Its also for the car industry.. Last week I went to give my car for service at the Hyundai Service Center and i was politely informed that i will get a slot only by end of January.. I urgently need to replace my brake pads and tires.. And because of this, I won't be able to take my family out for new year and have to rely on a cab instead.. Now where do you think i can vent my anger??

We're stuck in a demand oriented market and this is the price we have to pay for it..
Sorry for the LONG OT post mods.. Will ensure i don't do it again..

IF only hero spent more on R&D than advertising. The glamour 125cc is their only in house effort. All their other efforts have been in paint jobs and stickering up their bikes.
They couldve easily built up a good portfolio of versatile engines, rather than now still pay royalty to honda for every engine manufactured ( unless they buy out the tech out and out).
But then the dealers for HH and Bajaj ( read volume sellers ), can always do with an improvement, be it stocking parts, or service.
