their motives and goals are still not clear...and what does that 'kit' include ??
A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)

the pledge: "I will keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead" is impossible to practise in India.

The moment you keep a safe distance, someone will push his nose inside and push you behind.

Besides the infrastructure is also partly to blame, if there were separate lanes to turn right, people would not feel like they have to "pay" for being on the fastest lane.

Also signboards (such as one-way, no-right-turns) are not placed in advance before the driver arrives at the junction.

I hate when someone says like this!!! The infrastructure has improved like hell these days. Its only the law ENFORCEMENT that needs to be in place besides a STRONG driver's education.

                Cheers!!!

Good initiative there by the group....

People will know & realise their responsibilities once we impose it on them..

Indians are very used to the mentality (Chalta Hai attitude)

It will be very tough at the start....but all the best buddy to the team....
Ride Hard !!! Ride Safe!!! Enjoy every moment on your machine !!! Cheers....

Infrastructure has improved relatively. But on absolute scale, its still inadequate.

I agree that drivers are unruly and don't accept their mistakes. But infrastructure is also dismal.

Even if the entire country has pure tarmac layed by L&T, unless the mentality of people on road change, NOTHING will improve. If people's attitude has to change, it has to be done through education & law enforcement.

I can't recall a country which US had waged war in the past & they're still developing & smaller in size. Must be Laos or Vietnam I guess. The roads are pathetic, but, that does not keep away people courteous on road. This is what RRUC is publicizing & I think we have to be serious about it.

Ignorance is the keyword for it. I'll post an incident that happened last evening probably in the accident's thread. Just see how much people are ignorant on things.

                      +10 to that....

Irrespective of the infrastructure, the driver mentality is what has to be changed.
There is absolutely no road sense in today's drivers, unless that changes, it doesn't matter what state the infrastructure is in, the situation is still going to be pathetic.

And the less said about the law enforcement, the better, it's as good as non existent -- you regularly see the enforcers themselves flouting the rules

                        absolutely agree. Drivers are unruly...

But apart from doing a localized drive of educating them. The national problem is the corruption in the RTO for issuing licences. I got my car driving license without touching the steering wheel of the car. I got my motorcycle license only because i knew how to kick start the scooter. In both cases i went through a driving school.

We need to take on the RTO as a long term solution. Everyone will not have the time to organise and launch a street protest. Besides how effective will it be? From the hours spent v/s the number of people who will correct their driving habits.

I am not questioning the motive, atleast there are people who are doing something apart from their busy lives. But unless the RTO problem is fixed, there will only be many more such NGOs.
