Better illumination with a multi reflector headlamp,1 up 3 down gear change,A fully digital display equipped with a speedometer, fuel gauge, tachometer, odometer, trip meter and a clock , and finally a decent suspension, not many of those bikes you mentioned can satisfy ..Now a days people prefer a change and thats what the Mahindra's are trying to cash
The rising petrol prices burn your pocket not your riding soul!

always heard that people sitting in the board-rooms & decision taking places are all experts..... they are good at strategies..... their MBA degrees have come from great institutes..... now we know where have they wasted all the money..... so many brains to create such lovely ads..... M&M is just awesome company.....

now people there come to the real world and hire few XBHP-ians..... they'll provide better suggestions as what to launch & when to launch..... why are you paying all those degree holders..... kick them out and come to us.....

Talking of Ads, what was the Stallio Aamir Khan TV Ad trying to convey?

The Ad campaign/TV Commercial should follow the strategy/positioning of the product, so that the people can connect with it, remember the "unique" positioning of the product conveyed in the ad and then go ahead and maybe buy it.

But from the Stallio TV Ad, I could only gather that the Stallio is better and sensible than the Karizma ZMR (Hawa se Topi..??).

Cute Ad, gave some lighter moments to the viewer, had Aamir Khan as Eye candy.. in the end does nothing for the product.

What did they think? Make a general design and rope in an actor and sell a lot!
It is not easy as it seems!

Agreed. Before Discover too bajaj made many unsuccessfull attempts Aspire, Calibre etc. But you could see their desperate efforts. thats missing in Mahindra. Its purely my perception, as I do not see the efforts

                "What is so unique"
Thats a sham that products have to be unique to sell, check your wardrobe if you dont believe me!
Nevertheless, it has a 4 years warranty with 80000KM cover for starters...
Whats so unique about the P150? It still sells doesnt it?

Its not a sham dude. Is it that when you want to buy a pair of jeans do you go to the store and pick up any jeans that fits your size. Or do you look at other things also. Only when it appeals to you, you buy it. USP has to be there.

Early days, ineffective marketing has hit them... with the limited dealerships it would take some while for them to roll. They need a crowd puller in thier dealerships which could have been the Mojo!
They were on the right track with Mojo, but then CBR250R came in.

As someone rightly pointed out...launching a mass market bike without establishing brand in motorcycles is a strategic blunder. Agreed, Mahindra is a well known brand in India.. but nobody will connect them with motorcycles. They should have gone ahead with Mojo first.. even though CBR250 spoiled the party.. still Mojo could have established Mahindra brand firmly in motorcycle space.

The other day i saw the Stallio it looked downright skinny and hideous to say the least. No wonder it's not even able to crawl in sales statistics.

Making new market for 100 cc bike in India is very hard specially when it comes from Mahindra which is unknown company in 2 wheelers..

To be frank, breaking into 100cc market for a new entrant has become near impossible today. For years, HH simply ruled the show. Bajaj tried so hard with so many models but nothing stuck. Finally they came up with discover 100. Honda brought Twister and it primarily succeeded due to giving an impression of Activa for men. Its a good bike nevertheless and has the ability to win hearts in 5 mins.

If anyone wants a slice from the 100cc pie, they are up against HH, Bajaj and Honda. If I were a new entrant, I would rather stay clear. Even TVS seems to have backed out.

                          I second K sameer

Mahindra should have launched Mojo instead, being a new segment it would have had more buyers than the stallio anyday.
I would have bought the mojo myself.

Today they are into Motogp, they have enough expertise as well as enough money to create a decently good machine in a very new class, but trying to enter a segment which isn't ready to accept a new entrant isn't a right thing to do as a company.

If mojo would have failed, maybe they might have understood they were playing in a wrong segment and offering cake to someone who wants a candy, but failing with a stallio is a shameful as well as sad thing to accept.
Giving a lot to a fiero.
Expecting a lot from a fiero.

AFAIK, Mahindra has just used Kinetic Challenger/Boss's engine directly on Stallio...can't understand why so serious issues...Boss/Challenger were good bikes they failed b'cos CT100 & HH 100cc never gave space in those days for others to thrive.

Hope our ARAI wakes up and avoid strain on customers who are used as test drivers. ARAI should come out with strict norms so that consumers get the proven bikes. ARAI should test new bikes for atleast 30K kms before certification for 'fit for sale'.
Can this community under lead of Sunny suggest some points to ARAI, we will be doing good job...for fellow bikers..

Personally I feel, Hawa se topi is better than latest P220 with punch line 'India's No.1 Sports bike', superb guts to mislead people en' masse.
