Read about it in today's Times Of India.
They have forecasted the price at around 14 Rs/L and as per the news the testing on normal cars will began next year and it might be available for commercial purpose in the next 3 years.
Anyways:- If this comes true then we will be a hell of a happier lot.

If this is true and sucha fuel manages to come to India, our govt. will make sure to tax it obscenely. This way, they will be able to proudly keep inflation at sky high levels.
On a serious note, I don't see this making much progress because this will bring OPEC countries on the streets from their Bugatti Veyrons. They are a big enough cartel and won't want to see their only source of income being obliterated.

+1. Government gets a big chunk of money by taxing the petrol. I am sure it will tax the same way and bring the final price to current petrol price.Originally posted by ksameer View PostIf this is true and sucha fuel manages to come to India, our govt. will make sure to tax it obscenely. I do not remember exactly the name of the English movie. The authorities do not want to disclose about a scientific discovery that creates free energy and they try to kill the scientist.HH Karizma (Current) || CBF Stunner PGM-FI || Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler

This kind of petrol is quite far in reality if India is concerned. Due to its "Cheap" properties the parent companies currently operating in our country will suffer a lot towards which the government too earns its share by imposing taxes & finally declaring to the masses that its subsidized. Moreover, the world economically can experience a major change if Hydrogen comes to the rescue which will furthermore take 20 years to come to India. Seriously in my opinion the government will never take a step forward in this direction. Take an example of Solar Power, India receives about 27% of the sun's energy which is by far a lot as compared to the world, how much do we use it??? What is the government doing to promote this??? NOTHING!!! There are a few companies I saw operating in this field which is why its expensive!!!
The Conclusion - PETROL(Prices) WILL RISE!!!!!A Pair Of Wheels Are Better Than A Set Of Four.
