we are yet to see a product from bajaj and KTM, and everyone who cribs about the quality of current generation pulsars(including me that is..) need to wait and see what bajaj and KTM have in store. Something tells me that the next gen pulsars (which are rumored to be sharing parts with the KTM Duke 200) are going to be light years ahead in terms of quality and refinement compared to the current pulsars. At-least that is what I hope...
EDIT -
A Question to all the experts out there.
Bajaj's profit is 667 crores, does this figure include the profit that Bajaj makes at KTM?Last edited by tulinisarg; 02-28-2011, 07:53 PM.RIDE HARD... RIDE FAST... RIDE SAFE....

I strongly believe that splendor has become a commodity. And throwing a commodity out of its place is real difficult. The buyer of splendor doesnt care about looks or features (best example.. Splendor NXG itself failed). Rather they want a means of transport from point A to point B. And splendor is efficiently able to do that.
Most of the buyer of Splendor are people from out previous generation who are scared of experimenting. And influence the decision of our generation too. Thus the high volume. Next generation of buyers will be having more money to spend.. read disposable income. So we can expect a market shift.
Having said that.. Pulsar 150 is on the verge of becoming a commodity too. Which may get competition in future from another stable. None of the manufacturer is able to outdo Pulsar 150 specifically. Most office going.. commuting people prefer P150 for its efficiency.. comfort... and PULSAR brand. And latest gen pulsars are reliable too. So very likely for it to become a commodity. Why Road Safety campaigns are not impacting people?

Say whatever you may, but the Bajaj quality is faling day by day...I had a P180 (in 2006, dunno which generation). The quality was fine and I didnt have issues which I face now with my P220.....
cone set, noise from chainset, gears, rough engine, battery, nuts falling from fairing....even one day I found a nut missing from a heat shield
Bajaj has no doubt revolutionized Indian biking scenario (Kudos!) but...alas!
Issues remain..Last edited by enfro; 03-01-2011, 07:30 AM.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Even i agree with that BAJAJ has to improve their quality..even if it means bumping the prices a little up.Smoke rubber, not tobacco.

But at the same time they are not even in first three of '125 - 225cc' category.
bajaj on first, honda on second and tvs on third.

Exactly.. HH has less than 20% share if you go into 125+ category.. HH's sales are from Splendor/Passion. One more thing is that Bajaj has the full advantage of parts sharing for Pulsar/Discover series. Even though HH uses same egine in various models.. due to different styling of bikes HH doesn't have the same level of advantage, when compared to Bajaj.Originally posted by lockhrt999 View Posttrue.

Here's an example from a pulsar owner..What can i say more?Bajaj quality is not upto the mark as compare to Hero honda,Yamaha,Suzuki and even TVS..They have huge number of issues with their bikes.Originally posted by enfro View PostSay whatever you may, but the Bajaj quality is faling day by day...I had a P180 (in 2006, dunno which generation). 1 thing I would like to say !! Even a Bajaj service guy won't be able to say in first shot which version spare needs to be put to respective vehicle.
Internally Bajaj alone knows how many upgrades and spare changes they have made which will make the user face hard time finding exact spare.
Definitely Bajaj is improving and still needs improvement. Instead of giving very frequent upgrades they should work on refinement and give a proper upgrade. Expecting it from next gen Pulsars.

dude you might have got a lemon... no I mean seriously... I had a couple of issues with my 220 which were solved very effectively at the first attempt... been 3.5 years with my 220... never faced any problems... Atleast not those which weren't solved asap...Originally posted by enfro View PostSay whatever you may, but the Bajaj quality is faling day by day...I had a P180 (in 2006, dunno which generation). 3 words: Dhak Dhak Go!Originally posted by ksameer View PostYet their profits have come down. Wonder what is it that HH is doing? Selling more and more bikes still making less money.
No other 2 wheeler manufacturer spends so much on advertising. I don't remember when was the last I saw an ad from TVS or Bajaj. All riders fall; some get back on, some don't, some can't...
