Such rules should be imposed all over India. Good work by the District Magistrate. Others should follow now.

Now this is what i call innovation....
Men who still dream of being a pilot or an astronaut are yet to ride a motorcycle.

Wow! I had never even thought of any such innovation... let alone the trendsetting ruling coming from a little known district from UP!
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

perfecto.......Needed here in all the states i guess.....
Should be made compulsory to all.......atleast we know people are using helmets.......
but yes where does it lead??????
There will be a time again when these dealers will sell helmets for sky rocketing prices........may be government should keep a price bracket for helmets manufacturers which are common in the country ie...VEGA or Studds....
Bikers like us will go for foreign brand....no doubt but the common man will atleast be secured in a Vega!!!!!!!

When Maharashtra does it, I see a business opportunity. Rent helmets for 5rs for filling petrol. Have a person sitting at exit to collect the helmet back once the petrol is filled

Good initiative. For typical Indian standards, Studds, Ozone and Vega are 3 brands that I have used myself. I would recommend these 3 ISI helmets to common people riding under 150cc bikes. And a typical Ozone costs some Rs. 600-700.

I was myself involved in a 40 kmph crash, which proved that the Studds Helmet I was wearing was durable enough to save my head. (Although, my right arm wasn't so protected/ lucky).

Another important factor is that the helmet should be properly fastened to the head. Otherwise, in an accident, it might just come off thus defeating the helmet's purpose itself.

Great suff! wouldn't it be easier to make it law to wear a helmet and have the wonderfull police force enforce it?
Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

very good move.........instead of imposing fines to those who don't wear helmets, this is a much better way to enforce the law.

but i doubt whether it will work, becuase who will keep an eye on petrol pumps, whether they are actually denying petrol to non-complying riders.
