Just the right bike for trip to laddakh and other places where roads dont exist. if the specs are true then It will be awesome. Bucket loads of torque at low revs and very good mileage too. Something similar to petes tuning box should be able to increase the power figures even further.

Very interesting and something to look forward to...
The Scimitar could well turn to be a favourite to get around or tour India. HDT entered an off-road race, and from what can be seen on the net, the bike looks quite capable for a big diesel!
Dual-sport bikes are getting better both on and off road. They are great fun and practical IMO. Personally I find that tarmac roads can get tediously boring at times and I need a little escape...Learn from the mistakes of others. You won't live long enough to make all of them yourself.Comment

Gosh!! I am in serious love with them!! Who needs cornering when you can climb a hill straight up? and with that amount of range is simply awesome. It just needs the Spoke rims changed to Alloy rims. 45kmpl @ 90kmph Too hard to believe man!! I am one desperate soul waiting to own this one as soon as it launches!!
And really, the hill climbing/ offroading capability is just awesome.....Riding the Indian Monster : 200NS....
