@utsav : there is a reason why this bike has spoke rims like all other off roaders do.

Mails sent to their official e mail id - [email protected] are bouncing. So any hopes of early launch are in vain.

I would definitely go for it if the price is sub 2L. But i'm still in smoke about its reliability.

umm.. But why the spoke rims? The spoked ones get bent much easier than compared to the alloy rims. So why to put the spokes when alloy can do the job better?

My hopes are little bit dampened with this news!! Anyways whenever this species comes in India, I am getting it for sure.

The Scimitar stands to blow the Adventure Tourer segment wide open in India!!! With pricing like that, even the local doodhwaala might trade in his Rajdoot for it, if he's tall enough

Wonder if the Indian version will have a lowered suspension and seat for us sub-6ft fellows. The Motorcycle.com review says even a 6ft rider had problems with seat height! But has there even been any news of it lately?

              Cheers

Why would you want alloy wheels on a dual purpose bike ?

Edit - I just saw someone clarify that below

I wonder what happened to this motorcycle. It surely would gather a lot of interest from the Indian Junta. It did when the article first came out.

Actually, Now!!! would be a good time to bring this onto our streets..

Hero talks about a 400cc Diesel, then Royal Enfield does the same. Both vaporize into thin air and never appear even in Auto Expo 2012. Now this bike is announced ages ago and is already produced in the US but no sign of it coming on road to India. Any idea what is wrong ?

Modern single cylinder diesel engines don't make too much noise. They have a thump, like Bullets. And weight should be under 200kg I guess (again in Bullet zone). So it shouldn't be too impossible to live with.

This too depends on which size engine is it?? Bullet Deisel use to make a lot of noise with aot of pollution. in mumbai it's strickly banned, becuase one guy in my office use to sell his Bullet D and everyone use to return him back, We use to see his sell ad in comapny inatnet always.

To make a 2 wheeler that too in diesel would sure need any thing big.

Bullet Diesel had a Greeves Pumpset Engine made in the 1970's. Technology has improved since then. Tata is readying a 700cc 2-cylinder CRDI Diesel Engine for the Nano. If something like this could be plonked into a bike (maybe single cylinder version of it) and tuned for bike use, it'll be an awesome tourer

The Sound is not that irritating. They(we) fired the ignition on a car bodyshop with a little thud sound. Afterwards it's runs good.

Pollution will be well controlled in this D bike.

Psst: The bike is very inside my office. I am seeing it daily .
Could you spill the beans as to when it could be out or what it could end up costing ?
