  • 2012 MV Agusta F4 (200BHP)

Italian firm MV Agusta has revealed a teaser trailer for the new range-topping, 200bhp F4 1000RR superbike due to be released later this year.

The video gives a close-up look over the whole bike and a tantalising glimpse of some action too. The F4 1000RR has a tuned engine said to be good for 200bhp and will be very expensive.

The RR is due to be launched in early summer with a limited run of bikes.

Delicious !!! But my dream bike still remains the Tamburini version.

I loved the wheelie in the advert. The bike seemed swaying like anything, but the rider was fearless!

It's not a big deal getting a street 1000 to touch 200 bhp, but the sacrifices include extremely high R&D, high technology & exotic parts resulting in more cost or weaker midrange or low end than other bikes.

But this is a good news though. More choice in the 200 bhp area. First Ducati, then BMW, Kawasaki, and finally MV.

                  Thanks for the information dost!

Seems like Italians are all set to rejuvenate the motorcycling. First Ducati then Aprilia and now Augusta.

I don't think they would be thinking of hitting Asian markets, specifically India

A closer look at the specs reveals something quite different. The top speed of the new F4 RR has dropped from 304.8 kmph (of the previous F4) to 297.4 kmph.

So, on paper the new F4 RR might look humongous, but in reality it's a tad slower than it's predecessor, inspite of those additional Bhp, and this is happening because the speed translation is not coming from the engine spec directly, but it's coming by tweaking the internal gear ratios to translate the additional 15Bhp into speed to the rear wheel. The new engine mods, make the engine more smooth, but top end happy, but those mods are not participating in the overall speed translation.

In this Bhp war, manufacturers are seeming to forget how you use the Bhp, like I always say, it's never about the numbers, it's always about how you put those numbers to use, and the BMW S1000RR is the king because it puts those numbers to use in the most user friendly way.

Friend! I agree with you on the S1000RR. However, let's think it this way. You've an out of the world, stunningly beautiful bike and a lot of power to meet the competitors from Asia and Germany.

In my opinion, no one would go for S1000RR if giving an option with the Augusta. You can have the amount of power, the seamless beauty and last but not the least, why on earth you will need a machine going beyond 300 km/h mark unless and until you aren't a speed fanatic..
