So, on paper the new F4 RR might look humongous, but in reality it's a tad slower than it's predecessor, inspite of those additional Bhp, and this is happening because the speed translation is not coming from the engine spec directly, but it's coming by tweaking the internal gear ratios to translate the additional 15Bhp into speed to the rear wheel. The new engine mods, make the engine more smooth, but top end happy, but those mods are not participating in the overall speed translation.

In this Bhp war, manufacturers are seeming to forget how you use the Bhp, like I always say, it's never about the numbers, it's always about how you put those numbers to use, and the BMW S1000RR is the king because it puts those numbers to use in the most user friendly way.
See, if your bike's bhp and weight is around 200 bhp & 200 kgs, you can easily tune/ gear it to reach 320 or even 340 kmph, a previous year ZZR1400 being testimony to the fact. But I believe that even Agusta is feeling the need for safety, like Japanese did.

Speed is an endless war. You can make a 1500cc 1900mm wheelbased bike reach 430 kmph MAYBE, or even more nearer to an airplane's speed, but one accident of a near and dear one will make it all irrelevant for your whole life.

Some foreign bikers have gone nuts, they will still try touching 400 on bike if possible, just to boast on youtube that I did it.

Better just end it at 300, and let the bhp's show up in acceleration. Or at the best, let S1000RR go upto 302 kmph real speed. That's it. Do you agree with me or think otherwise?

In my opinion, no one would go for S1000RR if giving an option with the Augusta. You can have the amount of power, the seamless beauty and last but not the least, why on earth you will need a machine going beyond 300 km/h mark unless and until you aren't a speed fanatic..
Absolutely man, give a choice between the S1000RR and the F4 RR, I would choose the F4 RR any day (provided I'm provided the luxury of the kind of bank balance required)

When I mention about the speed, I'm not complaining about anything, what I'm saying is, even with the increase in Bhp, the 2012 F4 RR is making lesser top end than it's predecessor, which is like taking a step back and thinking about the package in totality and that's why was my comment "It's not about the numbers, but how you use them", if with the increased Bhp, we are loosing on top speed but getting a more usable bike, then who the hell is complaining.

That's the reason even after getting so much rattling on loosing top end, '09-'11 Yamaha YZF R1 is still my favorite as the cross-plan cranshaft has made it a more usable bike on street.

You know dude, there is something called "Dream Machine". This is why most of us will go for Augusta if given an option. But the truth is, who would be that IDIOT to provide an option

Jokes apart, about the R1; I second you on that brother. Though I've never ridden one but it was always a bike close to my heart because of everything it has including the price.

About the top speed of this model, what I think is it's more of a track orientated bike capable of quick acceleration and swiping corners with ease. That may be one of the reason. Since when it comes to top speed, there are many better bikes than Ducati. However, if you want a track inspired machine, first choice will be Ducati. May be Augusta is also on the same spree..

the design is so obnoxiously stunning and jaw dropping. i cant believe with my eyes how extremey track focused this bike is. a close look would reveal the rearset footpegs of the rider is just a few inches away from the pillion footrest. Also the damn low handle bars. goes without saying, it asks the rider to be "one" with the bike.

a trully exotic machinery. words not enough to explain the character of this bike. a dream of so many bikers like us.
