Recent reports suggest that Mr. Jun Nakata, Yamaha Motor India Director and Chief Sales Officer said that Yamaha owes the huge share in the scooter market in United States and various European countries. At present the company is said to be focussing on the study of the market situation in India before its entrance. According to one other source, Yamaha is expected to make its entry in Indian market by 2012 and would start the production at its plants located at Surajpur and Faridabad. Accordingly Yamaha is expected to pump in $10 million by 2012 to boost up its scooter production to one million.

The scooter market in India is mainly dominated by legendary companies like Bajaj Autos, Honda, TVS, Suzuki. All these companies have introduced their products in market, all with updated and advance technology to give tough competition to each other. At this time the announcement of Yamaha to enter in the scooter market in India will definitely set commotion among these companies.
