Heard about a term called Classic Retro styling. Bonneville is the epitome of that. One of my favourite motorcycles.

Not every bike needs to be a super sports, full faired, crotch rocket. The Bonneville is a Modern Classic Bike.. and yes as rightly pointed out it is styled like the bikes from the 1940-60's. In developed nations where you have all the latest models, a modern classic bike like the Bonneville stands apart in a crowd.

Such a bike also probably shows one's mature taste in bikes. Our own Royal Enfield Classic has been a big hit in India. Not every body wants to ride a Super Sports crotch rocket.

will have to wait and watch..

They apparently haven't decided whether to import to go ahead with CKD operations... They do plan to have dealerships up and running by next year though...

This is the mail that I received from Triumph y'day talking about their entry:

                      28 June 2011

Triumph motorcycles to enter Indian market

                      For immediate releaseEnds
The mail was from their PR in Hinckley. I have quoted a portion of the long detailled mail.
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Sorry to aggravate you bro... I didn't mean to say that everybody has to like and want a supersports crotch rocket... And yes I am aware that "It Is Styled Like The 40's Bikes"...

Triumphs have been always my favourites.

They (I4's) have got one the most beautiful exhaust notes and their build quality is top class.
