Obama has lost it completely. Most Indian cars average around 15-20 kmpl. Most American car average around 3-8kmpl. Obama doesnt know that the limo he uses has 4litre+ V8 engine and most American cars have V6s and V8s. He should probably administer those issues first then blame emerging economies like India and China for rise in fuel prices.

+1. They should look at cleaning their own mess first before throwing muck at others.

He's just jealous that we're doing well.... so well that america is no longer a super power.. heck, no power at all.

Just 2 decades back they had a say in everything, today they still think they do. They still talk, only difference is that its still the same BS talk and they have no one listening.

Even our Tata and mahindra trucks (or suv's/mpv's) which are a decade old will give a run for their gas guzzling, feature rich, fully loaded, techno loaded cages.

Cut some slack to this dude, he was handed a country that was facing financial crisis like never before, he is just cleaning the mess done by Bush and he is frustrated. And we all know frustrated people are bound to speak sometimes rubbish.

That's not quite right; these days all the ads featured are based only on MPG & there's almost no ad without a MPG & that includes motorcycles & scooters as well. For that matter, Ford Mustang putting over 300 Bhp yields 32MPG which is like 15 Kmpl; they're realizing the importance of FE these days.

His country is hit with debt and people are abusing the govt for the healthcare plan and no of jobless is increasing than ever before.

I read it somewhere that the US state California alone consumes more petrol than the whole India. How on earth Obama can blame India ?

Let the stupid Americans stop producing gas guzzling V8 cars, end wars and end poking nose into other countries' businesses. This will end the crisis.

That is only a recent development.For decades American vehicles have been consuming over-the-top amount of fuels!Thank god for the defunct of the HUMMER crap!

Well they have cars with 6 litre engines even. Bikes that consume less than 10 KMPL. Still they call India and China as the reason for fuel shortage? What a comedy sir ji! Instead of doing silly things like this they should take up some nice initiatives like promoting CNG like they do in India.

To all of us venting out on US, the white collared IT jobs are main driving force of our nation. Personally, I'd thank every every jobless in US, otherwise, we wouldn't be able to survive the chaos here.

Anyway, my point is not to support Obama, but, his points are partially true that the entire developing nation's oil consumption has gone up. Had US realized this in 70's when the gas price was less than 70 cents a gallon & thought about FE, they could've worked miracle.

They're probably realizing their mistake, when we're all walking their path.

Ranjit - I'm talking the present scenario & I'm aware of the GT500 yielding 5-6 Kmpl
