US was hours away from a sovereign debt default, the healthcare and social security systems are facing serious problems, wars in Iraq & Afghanistan are not at all going by the script and US domestic economy can hardly be described as out of trouble. Yet, despite all this, all that the great Nobel prize winning statesman cares to comment on is how the rising oil prices are all the fault of countries that have only started to emerge out of the economic backwaters in the last 15-20 years while for decades USA wantonly guzzled the Earth's resources - well done Mr. President, what a perfect example of how to handle a crisis like a true politician.

Haha...what do you think Maini Reva & Tata's air powered car are not new inventions? The new variable valve timing isn't a new invention? It is still under development & will take its own time to be made under mass production.

Most of my mustang owner friends (v6's) have not got anything above 25 mpg even while cruising at 70 mph on straight freeways. mustangs are notorious for giving bad FE. Most hover between 17 mpg - 25 mpg when driven cautiously. v8s are even less than that and worse too.

Yes, i agree with your other statement that more importance is given to mpgs and that's why smaller vehicles are best sellers like ford focus, hyundai elantra, civic, corolla which easily achieve 30-40 mpgs.

their trucks and big sedans are still popular, but deliver sad FE. that is one thing which they can't get rid of and should work towards it. heck the much appreciated(critic) malibu hybrid doesn't give as much as a accord or camry.

+100 I have been telling anyone who listens since the past 10 years that this shitpiece of a country is gonna destroy the whole planet... I have reasons and explanations ofcourse... But seriously... This country has got 2 miracle chances... I doubt they will have a third... I for one will have a smug smile the day these people are on their knees...

we area developing economy, so our need for fuel as well as other raw materials like, electricity, steel, iron, cement etc, is bound to happen.

US has also gone through similar phase ....so when they develop, its their birth right and when others develop--its a crime??

when they develop an atom bomb, its for saving humanity and when others develop atom bomb, they are terrorist?

when US does dirty politics to control oil fields worldwide, they are right--when others try to do it, they are terrorists?

when US posts its army around the world, its for world peace, when others try to do it, they are creating imbalance of power.

Can be possible.......however those figures are claimed by the manufacturer. And my friend those figures are achieved on a test track in controlled environment not real public roads.

1) USA has the higher number of vehicles per family, and these vehicles are cars.
2) Most often, these vehicles ply around with single passengers (just the driver).
3) Cars are less fuel-efficient than 2-wheelers, anyday.

Thats not true. If cars are used for the purpose they are meant to then they are quite fuel efficient. Well if someone plans to drive his 4x4 for grocery shopping then its a different thing
