It's rather appalling how they use one bike and try to squeeze as many sales as possible. I know all companies do that but Bajaj does it to the extent that it's disgusting.

For example: p220 it first came out with the futuristic (by Indian standards then) fuel injected engine- the dtsfi. realizing not many were going to buy it they eventually released it with the carb-the dtsi. compared to it's predecessor it was a big success. It made the 220's common in the metro's. But they didn't stop there. They went on to use the same engine on the p200's body renaming it the p220 s. the p200 line had been halted and they ensured the buyer who wanted a taste of power had to either buy the p180 or the p220 which was priced a little higher. a little later they released it with the option of some very weird colours- say orange! and now the latest news is that the they are going to be released with the option of dual colour styling to appeal to wider range of people. They even plonked the same engine onto the avenger saving on r/d for that model.

I'm sure many would agree that it's high time they released a half decent baby superbike say a 250 or 300 cc twin. But, I doubt they will do it anytime now because firstly, they want to squeeze as many ninja sales out of the Indians. secondly, the dual coloured p220 has just hit the markets we probably have to wait for a tri coloured one and one with ABS like d apache. and probably they want the duke to be released too and by the time they do release the "new pulsar" people in their 20's like me wouldn't have enough testosterone left to ride bikes

My classic pulsar 180 is going strong even after 8 years..Pulsar brand really made a different segment in the industry and so did BAL. Hats off BAL..Its not how they failed, its how they survived the odds so far ,which counts...
