I did test ride the bike yesterday . The stance of the bike is tall and you feel commanding. Ride is comfortable. Front brake is spongy but in our TR bike the rear was non existent. Lack of bottom end torque makes me wonder how well it will perform in off road conditions.
The bike is definitely light and nimble. Headlights are pretty decent. The motor is very free revving.

the bike will be uncomfortable if you are less than 5/10 in height. means you will not be able keep both your feet on the ground. i am 5/11, was able to rest both my toes only after sitting on the bike. the fascination vanished after seeing the bike in flesh. looks quite ordinary. yes it is a scrambler, so i expect it to perform like one paying close to 80,000/-.
bottom line is i want a second bike for daily use. the choice is between a karizma ZMA / Impulse. will wait for a test ride which i hope can do some time next week. Then we ( me and my better half ) decide which one to go for.
i have serious doubts about impulse going to be a best seller in its current avatar.

Today I have seen the Impulse in flesh, the bike is a one hell of a looker, I got the same feeling when Hero launched the CBZ for first time, the quality is not too bad, the welding joints niks is mentioning are actually on the chasis which I think will be present on all the bikes but is covered with plastics, however there are some parts with bad fininsh, the plastics are kept to the minimum and I think it can pretty much handle moderate off roading, but for sure it cant be an X-Games bike!
It is pretty tall looking but the suspension is very soft once you sit on the bike it reduces its height by nearly 2inches.
If I have a option open I will buy this to be my secondary..

I saw the impulse in person today . Too many "eye sore" welding joints are there. The bike doesn't look rigid for any kind of hard off roading. Rear brake is too small , which is mainly reqd for any off-roading duties. No provision to set up a rear disc.
At a price tag of 76/77k on road pune , it seems like a very expensive proposition.

thanks for your PoV siddharth.Originally posted by siddharth_ZMR View Postplanning ladakh on a bike that has just hit the road... IMO you should refrain from doing so... first let a year go by.. understand the bike and the limits and then take her to a highly demanding terrain like ladakh... in the mean time you can exchange your impulse with others and take their bike for the ladakh ride... i guess many wont have issues with it...
Unfortunately I don't have anyone in my friends circle with whom I can exchange my bike, as all of them will be going along with me to the trip.
Anyways the rip is scheduled for june-july 2012. So that should ne enough time to.run in the bike and find out its handling characteristics, I think.
Request others to state their views too
Thanks.

similar 150cc as in hunk, extremeThank you for the prompt replies.Originally posted by jigar2speed View PostAs far as my knowledge goes there was only one bike that had tubeless tires in spoke rims and that was BMW's bike. So no if it has spoke rims, the bike will not have tubeless tires.
