    pros:
    ****in awesome looks
    looks gr8 in fles!

    Cons

    1)Lacks in power. - Maximum speed 97, 1st gear maximum 19, 2nd 39
2)Heats up like a heater, literally
    3)Engine fries at 95+
4)Ankle touches the engine cover while braking (RH side)...the engine is 2 close, and the cover above it is of no use!
5)Exhaust heat sink under pillion seat is of no use, it gets hot 2 quick!

was desperately looking forward 2 impulse but overall was a disappointment
On road Price Thane - 80ks
good review there. i was keen to go for one. now i am not sure. i have to take a pillion behind. if the silencer protector also get heated up on extended riding the pillion legs gets toasted making the bike a single seater. the only thing left now is rough riding. with only 13 bhp, riding off road in real may not be easy, and getting stuck without power on steep climbs is a scary proposition.

the 220 cc engine of ZMA would have been a better choice.

my take the bike is a sheep in wolf's clothing

The bike is made for a different purpose than youre expecting. Heating like that happens with all new engines. Even 40k is a big deal for most of us, let alone 80k.....there's no such thing as peace of mind when you drop that kind of money on something. It gets so bad with some new buyers that they start imagining problems.

But if you say its bad, then to each his own.

    @ above

if you havent ridden the bike then please do the honors

me and my biker frn had a ride
we both had the same views
    we might be wrong
but ive been following impulse right from the scratch
    and had high hopes
but if its bad it is bad!

    however the view is mine

i just put them up so that the potential bike takers have a rough idea abt the bike, be it a negative view, and then can cross check the faults, since 80ks holds considerable importance is most of our eyes

a bike getting so hot in a matter of 10 kms is very disappointing
abt brazilians takin the heat i dun care
i need my moneys worth and a tension free ride
and my ankle touched the gearbox cause it is very close to the break (esp relative to other bikes)

    nothing personal

@sarpanch: First, welcome to Xbhp. Second, most of those cons you listed arent really cons.

1> Thats no way to measure power. Its how fast the bike gets to those speeds that is more important. So what if top speed is just that much? This bike is made more for quick acceleration and ease over varied terrain than top speed. The gearing on the bike is probably not meant for top speed. Those knobby tires add more rolling resistance than the usual tires found on other 150s. Dirt bikes dont have the best aerodynamics. You also ran a new engine.

2> New engines heat up considerably more than run in ones.

3> You really shouldnt be doing such speeds on a new engine.

4> Maybe true, but I cant imagine how ankle can touch gearbox while braking.

5> Everyone suspected this. Will have to take your word for it. But if Brazil can take the heat, so can we, right?

So, your score: 2/5. But only because you get the benefit of the doubt on point #4.

Lets give the bike a chance, man. Im liking HeroMoto for giving us a dirt bike, no matter how diluted it is. It'll be nice to see some different machines on the road.

Guess the bike was really an IMPULSE for Hero Motors .

The IMPULSE to launch the bike was so great that it totally skipped the R&d and the design dept .

Only Jackie Shroff is missing on the bike doing some funny stunts of his.

Sorry HERO for the sales of this will be ZERO

    Once again . No Thanks

    1. since its from Hero Moto cop..its reliable
    2. the dimensions are good (but minimum height required for this bike is 5.8" )
    3. engine 150cc (13 bhp)..engine sounds like extreme
    5. plastic quality is not bad..but bad finishing.. can see welding marks
    6. tyres are tube... not tubeless
    7. not good at cornering

Well its an on-off road bike. It should handle well off road. generally these bikes dont have great on road handling characteristics !

    8. company claming a mileage of 60 kmph (i feel 45-50kmph in practical)
    9. the fuel tank is 11 liters (the design look ugly)
    10. ground clearance is very high..since we ppl doing offroad with R15

Well mate, what do you expect ? As an off road machine( somewhat ) , the clearance is good enough and it should be this high for maximum suspension travel.

Over all at Rs. 80,500 (on road in Hyderabad) this bike look at bit costly & the accessories cost Rs1950 includes( knuckle guard & other rubbish) bit too much

NOTE: THE EXHAUST IS NEXT TO THE RARE SEAT..THE HEAT GUARD FAILS TO PROTECT FROM HEAT.. PILLION SHOULD BE VERY CAREFUL

the biggest challenge is, will the Indian guys accept this or not at this price.... going to upload some pics
