In nutshell it's overpriced, may be not in absolute term but relatively considering that a faired Sports tourer from a more prominent Japanese brand is available at a more competitive price.

I feel that if Hyosung/Garware really wants to survive they should get their 250 lineup pronto but at a really competitive pricing and this is not that tough considering that they are ready to go local assembling way.

I agree with Bandhav. Like I pointed out earlier, Garware should have kept the price lower than this to really make an impact. Given there are no other options for a naked mid segmenter, they have an open playing field but i have a feeling that some people will hold off till the competition comes out with their offerings.

Hats off to Garware though for boldly going where no other manufacturer has gone before.

@Neil: I have feeling that it's not really bold but more of a desperate move, as the cash register is not really ringing the way Hyosung would have liked it to.

As far as venturing into a segment which is more like untouched territory (read naked 600cc) is concerned I feel that irrespective of the fact that today plethora of big bikes are available, our market is still not mature/big enough to justify a segmentation based on styling. Here a big bike is still a big bike.

Bandhav - I agree. It looks as though they are definitely trying to make full use of the first mover advantage by trying to cover all the bases in the mid segment. I think they are trying to cash in on this with a slightly higher price on the bikes because they will have to go really agressive when they step into the 250 segment with the CBR250 & Ninja giving tough competition.

Plus once the other companies bring in their 600s, Garware will really feel the heat.

@Neil: I don't feel there is any first mover advantage here, that's what I mentioned in my last post. A potential big bike customer here in India don't do any Apple to Apple comparison, everything under the son available for his/her budget is considered be it Banana, Pineapple or dressed, naked everything.

The only point which I can give Garware here that they brought one more bike which I will tick off from my options while I am there in market for my big bike.

PS: It's not really going to happen soon.

+1 to what @Bandhav and @Neil, it is overpriced. They should have priced it below 4 lakhs and that headlight is one of the most ugliest ones I have seen, it competes with that HH Ambition's regal crest .

Bandhav - I think a part of the potential big bike buyers might be more discerning and might favour a naked over a fully faired bike but youre right whatever falls in their budget is fair game since the options are limited. Cruisers, sportsbikes, nakeds are all contenders since these bikes are most probably going to be a once in a life time purchase for many of us.

If I were searching for big naked and cant afford a Monster / FZ1 right now would definitely give the naked Hyosung a thought which works for Garware. Like you my big bike purchase is a few years away though

bprags - Please dont insult the headlight of the GT650N by comparing it to the monstrocity that was the regal crest. I'm sure HH eventually realised that Bajaj had managed to plant a mole in their R&D errr I mean styling division who signed off on the regal crest .....

The simple round headlamp of the earlier GT650 looked much classier.

                        +1.

The round headlight looks far better and compliments the street fighter look. Seems like in bid to make the bike modern in it's outlook Hyosung lost the track and end up coming with this half cooked result.

No offense, but thats one angry / pissed looking dude, and one heavy lady on the bikes.... What were they aiming for? a mean, aggressive styled launching or something???? hehe.

Called up the dealer in gurgaon. On road pricing is 4.96 lakhs. Bike will be available in showroom from Monday onwards. Delivery time 12-15 days.

2 years 25,000 kms warranty, first service free.

Oh yeah, dint like the grab rails at the back, and the excessively long exhaust.

Please visit the garware motors website. It says Hyosung gt650N has 73bhp and not 82. Also the curb weight is 208 kgs. 196kgs is dry mass which is not practical since no one can drive without fuel in the bike

How is the seatin position? Is it a little upright or is it as aggressively crouched as the GT650R?

One more question: Looks like there is no way to fix an engine crash guard. Adding that or an engine under cowl or both would make the "something is removed/gone missing" feeling to go away.
