its a crap deal......... i am not going to pay 10+ on road to get a 53bhp cruiser.....
even if i would have been a cruiser guy i would have bought an st7(pimped out) or an 883 variant or the HD 48(i will be getting 1200c.c. for the same price plus the bragging rights) in that price....

@suzuki management: what the hell were you thinking??? just because you have a product which is over a 800 c.c. doesnt meant you can launch and gain benefits out of it and that price....

drop the price by at least 2 lakhs and i might be interested....

      AFAIK, 883 has 883 cc and not 1200. 48 has 1202.

While I agree that a cruiser needs to have a certain old world charm, but not at the cost of safety!! Air cooled engine, push rods and valves are okay, not drum brakes man!!! Plus this is a modern cruiser, not a classic, hence the letter M in the name!!
N especially from a cruiser perspective, the front of a cruiser is pretty rakish. So under heavy braking the front is not loaded as much as a sports bike, so on a cruiser you have to use quite a bit of the rear brake too!! So its just a lot more prudent to have a rear disc !!
Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!
Hyosung Aquila : Because sometimes you need to look cool while riding at 40 kmph and you can do that only on a cruiser !!!

          i never said 883 has 1200c.c.

i think it came out wrong.... what i meant was i will get a variant of 883 may be a roadster or a 48(400 more c.c.) at the same price....

            Dear Suzuki,

I know the Japanese are better listeners than talkers unlike we Indians.
If so, dont waste your time on the 800cc cruiser just coz Harley is doing well with the Sportster 883. The price, heritage, image, marketing might etc of Harley over-rides suzuki's small cruisers performance or reliability or cheaper maintenance etc. I wont bring the M108 in this discussion as that has its own niche market.

Instead bring in the DL650 V-Strom at an affordable price.......That never say die, go anywhere bike is the bike that is perfect for Indian conditions and in a supersport obsessed India (where less than 5% owners take their bikes to the track and another 50% guys who have never sat on a superbike argue on torque & performance figures!), when people start using this bike with its usable power, great handling, higher ground clearance etc they will start to appreciate it....

Second you on the Vee - I would buy that bike with my eyes closed if Suzuki sells it here.

Suddenly the M800 makes the Sportster 883, Superlow and Forty Eight great value for money. Thanks Suzuki for putting this in perspective.

I think Suzuki is more interested in selling it's super bikes here rather then commuters...

This Bike looks Hot but it's not a value for money purchase

+100 , I would also buy one eyes close , but a black one though .

Who is the one who is sitting up there in SUZUKI headquarters and making all this non sense decisions .

Do they at-least do a market survey before dishing out such contraptions ?

SUZUKI please do us a favor and get some flavors .
Please have some sense and get sensible bikes such a V-storm .

Bikes like the V-strom and Gladius are gonna sell out faster than Suzuki can build them if they decide to intoduce it here.

Guys, these companies earn their bread and butter from the commuter class bikes. The imported ones are just for brand value (Kawasaki can be an exception here).

If they want to get a 645cc bike here, they'll have to get it homologated. That means one year delay and above 1 million rupees cost. Plus the Indian authorities are so proud, they'll find some defects in it: Its polluting/ noisy, Get it detuned, get its horns replaced, change this/that, etc.

So, while all of you would love the 650's coming through, Suzuki is quite helpless. In the past years, we heard suzuki trying to get GSX750R, GSR600, etc. here but none actually made it.

In such a scenario, M800 had the easy CBU way in, requiring no homologation and can't be compared price-wise to CKD Imports like ST7 and HD's...

NOTE: CBU imports don't need to have Saree Guards, although its presence is upto Company's discretion.

                              Completely OT:

                              Why is saree guard compulsary??

The title actually startled me for a second.
I was wondering why Maruti Suzuki would launch the M800 @ 8.8 lakhs
