This is extensively being planned for the Delhi region.

wow, great move, by the authorities... the sound really startles many ppl, and is a big nuisance. But many wouldn't resort to pressure horns or roots horns if the stock horn in vehicles were a little louder, they actually sound pretty meek.
Every BIKE has a lot of speed in it. The trick is getting the speed out of it.

its not only the meek sound of the stock horns but the senseless showoff tendency many people have. They think blowing the pressure horn will give them respect, like "see, my puny bike gives more sound than a bullet and people are frightened by the sound". For most of the bikes I saw with this horn, all were wannabe Rossi thinking their 100cc is a hayabusa. A great move, atleast those wannabes' learn a lesson.

Why can't the sales be banned instead of another money making gimmick...?

I am not in support of pressure horns... But then if the pedestrians didn't treat the roads like a park and the traffic culture was more matured then no one would need such horns in the first place... How about toughening the driving license test like those in Dubai or the States accompanied with suspended licenses on traffic rule transgressions...? So that the people who eventually end up driving/riding are people who have some traffic sense or are forced to mature...

Again we are just attacking the symptoms and not addressing or curing the root cause...

Very good point sir! 100/100, but for that wish to come true, we have to assume that our law makers actually want to make our country better, instead of pocketing some easy cash!

I am dead against pressure horn but i have got them installed on by bike.why? cause i am forced to do so by so called deaf and blind people on the road.they do not listen.they can not see the light.they are faster than p220 that is why they try to cross road even after seeing that some vehicle is coming.list is countless.

Agreed. Your point is valid. But, out of 100 people with such horns, I think only 15-20 have genuine reasons. Rest are simply a nuisance.
Plus, they add to the chaos by constantly blowing it throughout the signal from 100 meters away and forth.
                        Hence the decision!

Lets hope everything falls into place one by one. We need to educate people about road sense. We have found a brotherhood. All we can do is tell them what is right. In a country like ours, with a mentality like ours, everuthing takes A LOT OF time.

Thoughtful law always goes unimplemented. This is India and creating controversies is a part of its culture.

I'm also against such horns but it's a crystal clear fact that most of the 'buddhe' don't have intellect on who to behave on roads, whether on foot or on bike or in car doesn't matter they cause most of the accidents (Proven by road, transport govt authorities from all over the world).
Add to that marwadi ladies who have veil on don't even show courtesy to look around before crossing the road. All they know that by some witchcraft they will get across the road and they don't need to have a look around.
No offence should be taken, these are facts.

Such law is a good thing anywhere but India because from the point of safety loud horns are needful. When such uneducated people flood the roads one can only expect the anarchy. When you take away one thing from anarchy, nothing changes, anarchy remains anarchy. Due to extreme air pollution and sound pollution created by old vehicles (like appe) everyone dies everyday by a bit.

Neither I like loud horns nor I have them on my bike
But as Jeremy Clarkson has once said "In India the horn is your airbags, seat belts, safety cage, everything".

I'd like to take this moment to say... I love my Nautilus Stebel.

i've had it on my bike since '07...
and everyone who i've used it "against" deserved it.

I prolly use the horn thrice a week.

                            And... I pay Road Tax.

                            Pedestrians. Use the footpath.

I'm glad I have a faired bike. It's hidden out of sight.
                            .
